I'm really just afraid of what all of those hormones can do to her. They're pumping her full of all these drugs and doing these surgeries, what kind of side effects are going to occur from this?

I don't know, but if she realy has an excess of female hormones, she will probably act more feminine, I don't know what kind of effect that would have on her personality, but you raise a good point.

Nobody read the whole thing or what? >.<
She's retarded, she can't move, talk, she can't even swallow her own food.
She's not going to be feminine, no matter what they would do. xP

If it's not the childs decision, how can it be for her own good. I dont believe in messing around with nature in such a way.

ok, that's cruel beyond belief. By doing that they're pretty much KILLING her. She will have no friends, no social life, and she will probably be bullied beyond belief. Sure she will be easier to move around and bath, but what they did is unfair to her.

I think her parents are being overprotective and completely sadistic. It's just not right to deprive someone of their adulthood.

The thing is, she couldn't have made the decision for herself, she won't have any sort of life anyway, her mental development is retarded to the point where she can barely function as a human being, and will never progress past that. The treatment means her parents can take better care of her, since she will never be able to take care of herself. I don't see how that can be wrong, since it benefits the girl.

To me it seems that the child is more like a house pet to the parents. It's so sad how they don't dare to let their child go and live her own life. Even if she's retarded they should've let her grow physically. By being a peter panish midget she'll be even more of an outcast than what she'd be with a normal body.

    oh!

Do the parents even care about the girl?

this is on the artikel :
With no breasts she may be a less tempting target for any future male caregivers. And she obviously will not face the risk of breast cancer. The key point the parents make is that they decided to keep their child permanently as a child for her own good.

oh, it's so wrong and not natural.

I read the article.Just because she's retarded doesn't mean that her body can't react to the drugs that they put into her. Sometimes when a person is pumped full of too many hormones they have have side effects like blood clots, heart attack, and stroke. What about complications from the surgeries. Do they really want to risk killing their daughter for some stupid thing their doing out of selfishness.

i know its wrong, but its better than getting an abortion, now she will be able to live in more convience, just image her parents try to bath her and move her around if she weighs like 150+lbs, when shes younger she weights less than 100lbs so it makes everyones life easier, and idther way she wont have a social life, if u guys read the article it said she cant talk, walk and stuff like that, so it wont make a difference

Dude it's sick! I'd rather have an abortion than putting a helpless child through a miserable life.

in terms of this im opposed to the idea, but it really isn't in my judgment, or anyone else's for that matter to decide what is right for their daughter... even if it seems unethical

I don't want to sound insensitive, but it would kind of be a relief to them if she passed
