This realy depends on the situation which the skateboarding is done in. A sport is defined as a competition between two or more people. If they are in some sort of a competition then, yes it is a sport. Howevor, if they are just skateboarding randomly then it is not a sport. Either way I voted yes, because it certainly has the possibility of being considered a sport.

Agreeing with what Zapno said, it all depends on the situation. If it's in a competition, then I would consider it a sport. If you're just riding around on a skateboard for the hell of it, then I'd say no.
It's the same deal with bicycling, really. I would sure as hell consider the Tour de France to be a sporting event, but I wouldn't say that I'm doing a sport when I'm just riding my bike around with some friends.
So it can be...it's just situational.

So crystal meth and speed are sports?
I get a rush off playing neopets or chess.

:p Kidding. I know what you meant. But I DO get a rush off a good restock.

I think skateboarding is a sport. It takes skills, athleticism and practice.

Well if you're outside just throwing the football around you're not playing football...you're just playing catch. Playing catch isn't a sport. At least, in my opinion it isn't.
