The world of technology, science, politics etc is ever growing. What do you think lays ahead? Debate you ideas here...

o_O Btw I think inflation will have sky rocketed by then- HUGELY!
Hmmm what else, I guess what with tech advancing everything will probably be downsized (like nano technology and stuff).
    Uhmmm... what else...
Oh and fruit and vegies may go up heaps in price what with the erosio of soil and landfill and stuff.
These are just theories really though.

Technology will never halt. From the invention (or discovery) of fire and the wheel to the crazy wireless things we have now, I don't see it stopping anytime soon, I see it frantically speeding up.

    Things will be more productive.

i'm somewhat negative, so, i won't be suprised if they made a huge error so we're forced to take a step back, or, destruction of the world :0

if not, technology will just go on and on , everythign is going to be way more advanced someday :0

I agree with the error somewhere along the way, but I don't think it'll kill us off, I just think it may bring us back to the technology in say, the 1950's.

no like scientists will be able to like have a tomato plant seed and they will be able to mutant it's DNA and genes and create a fully grown tomato

    We will have hovercrafts.

For example, in 1904 the Wright Brothers were the first humans (that we know of) to fly in the air. On April 9th, 2004, we showed the newest Boeing 777 commercial traveling jet.

100 years, and a LOT of technology advancements.

I think we will have teleportation also. We have been experimenting on it, and in 100 years, we will have perfected it. Just like we perfected the airplane that the Wright brothers started a bit more than 100 years ago.

Technology will have to reach a halt, somewhere along the lines. We can't keep growing. We will not be able to keep up, at all. Humans just can't do it. We aren't able to compute all this stuff being thrown at us, even today. Adults are wide-eyed at technology kids are great at. It will just get worse and worse until the government bans it or something.

No matter what people say, robots will NOT take over, or try to. We program them, we can stop them. They might all blow up, but not start thinking by themselves. I don't know where people get that crazy idea, but it will not happen. Also, why should scientists spend their time working on robots if they could do something more constructive? Well, because our priorities are messed up, thats why.

Politics could go anywhere. We could all become communist, or stay democratic. Someone could take over, and we could have tyranny again. Personally, I think that we will go into an over-controlling government, but we will rebel and go back to democracy. You see, people in the government like power, and when they taste it, they want more. They then usually make sure that we will not rebel. Make everyone "equal", and make everyone rely on the government, so without them it would seem useless. Sadly, this is a Sci-fi story I do beleive in. Except after a while, we won't except it. The human race can not stay submerged for long, in my opinion. They want to rebel, want to fight. That is why the US is in Iraq right now, and the mere idea that we have nothing better to fight about except for oil.

Then there is the environment. That is probably the scariest idea. Global warming could destroy the world, and it would be our fault. Plus that, there would be no way to fix it. We could not rebel, or remake technology. It will melt the icecaps, and fry us up. If we don't do anything now, we won't be able to do anything in the future. The world has become obsessed with money and power, but needs to start thinking about the future in a more environmental sense. I don't care if you want to show your friends your shining new Hummer. Just because you have money to waste, doesn't mean you should waste it on a gas consuming car. No, you should do something better with it. If you don't, we will be dying in 100 years. And there will be nothing to save us. A pretty grim fate for just being greedy, huh? But that is how it is going to be if we don't do anything....

Oil will be gone in 100 years, thank goodness. As long as we don't find some new stash of it hidden away, we will have to find another fuel. I think this may help in halting the technology spree, and the environment problem, but still. For awhile, we will probably revert back to coal, which is even worse, so that won't help any. In less than a year we will also have found a new commodity to fight about. Then there will be a war over that, just because we want to.

Not only are we losing oil, but probably a lot of other resources. Even today, bronze, copper, and gold prices are on the rise. There are even resources out there. Trees are being cut down, destroying the environment even more. Animals are losing their homes and becoming extinct because of our greed. The thing is, half the time we are using these resources with no real reason. It is that greed factor again. We make things that are useless, but if they get us money, it doesn't matter.

A plague will also probably break out. We will have cured cancer or AIDs, or something, but there will always be another one coming. Bacteria and viruses evolve much faster than us humans do. We will probably have to worry about that, and yet, it ma help with population control. Who knows... even though that is a cruel thought, we need to relieve the world of some people. Mother nature is getting overworked, and we aren't helping.

Personally, it is not the future we should be worrying about. It is what we are doing now. Most of the things I listed could be changed now. Instead of creating a 40 inch screen TV, why not work on saving the jungle? Instead of making a H4, why not work on a environment safe fuel, and then make a new Hummer? Instead of spending a trillion dollars (the real sum the spent) in Iraq, why not give it to a cure AIDs program or Darfur?

People just think and obsess about the wrong things. They really need to be set straight, or the world is going to pretty much explode. Not a pretty idea, but there you have it.

On a lighter note, I think that we will move some people to the moon. It would help with the load of population, and advance some technology for a better purpose. The opportunities are endless, and there are so many wrong paths this world can take it is kind of scary.
I'm sorry if this bored you to death, but I just had to get it out there.

Well I'm hoping that 100 years in the future they'll be able to create an ipod THAT DOESN'T SCRATCH AS SOON AS YOU FREAKING TOUCH IT!

Or even make a way to change the size of tomatos so they can be grown small but be enlarged to bigger-than-life proportions.

I hate to say it, but is that all you care about? Ipods probably won't be around in 100 years. It is people that don't see the real side of life that are going to destroy this world.
Please, I am not emo or depressed. I do not hate the world, far from it actually. I just have some strong opinions about these matters.

People, I was joking. I talked to a guy who was working in the government. He says that they're working on a computer that can be smart/smarter than a human being. I don't think that's a good idea, but whatever floats their boats.
