i prefer desktops. laptops are too fragile, when something goes wrong the repairing charges are much higher than that of desktops. and the laptop keyboard is flat.. rather uncomfortable to use. of course, if you dont connect a mouse.. then you have to use that irritating touch pad
I prefer desktops but when mine went finally went kaboom(it was OLD) I got a laptop. I was in the military at the time and didn't have the net in my dorm room so being able to take my computer to the library for free net was a definite plus. I do love my laptop but I already have a plan to build a new desktop.
Yeah, pretty much, I see a lot of the A+ students in my university with laptops, everyone has one nowadays, as they get cheaper and better.
Mmm that doesn't make too much sense at all... why would you pay for your own internet if you can just use the one your parents pay for? Even if it's slower, it's still internet. It takes you to the same web pages.
desktops all the way! (apart from when writing notes in uni) but yea i jus prefer desktops cuz even the fastest laptop processor and ram, for a slimline laptop isnt fast enough for the processes that i run and thats not even that much
Because the internet for my desktop is DSL while my laptop is Wireless. Therefore, I pay my own internet, or I dont get any.
i have both...but i prefer the laptop more. My reasons are: - its my own computer - its portable - i could be on the computer for a long time.
I personally prefer my laptop. For one thing, I don't tend to install much on my laptop. (Honestly I don't think I need much other than photoshop, firefox, and 3 music files) Obviously, I'm not going to fill my laptop up, so less space is no disadvantage for me. Secondly, I bought a mouse to use on it, so thats no disadvantage either. The reason I prefer it is simply the ability to easily move it. If I need to go somewhere I can just take it with me, less hassle. Though, I can see why people who use up a lot of space would need it..
simply for it beeing portable,i have to say laptop, the one i bought recently, is as powerfull if not more than most desktops. it was made to my specific needs, its an amazing beast.lol. but i do also have to say that, desktops are amazing too, spent almsot £9000 on mine but thats at home in london and is more music and graphics. the laptop is only for when im away from home.
hmm Well I chose desktop only because that is all I have had I would love to have both though. I want a desktop for everything and I want a laptop just for school work and such. So I can bring it along to class and not load it down with programs and games and such things.
labtop all the way. also you can take it on the go WHEREVER you go. i usualy take my lapto with me whenever i go on the bus but it sucks because my internet connection keeps on disconnecting
lol I'd have to go with option 3 (both). They server totally different functions. If you aren't a gamer (half life or other 3d applications), then a laptop would be the best option. This is because laptops simply cannot keep up with desktops in the gaming department because they lack customization and video card variability. A laptop built with the same hardware as a desktop (processor, vid card, sound card, and all the other hardware) will cost 2-3x as much as a similarily built desktop. As for the desktop, it obviously lacks portability, but it makes up for it with better and cheaper technology. If you don't play games, just go with a laptop. Nothing beats surfing the net on your couch while watching the game.
I personally like Desktops. Sure, they aren't the most on-the-go thing, but when you buy a Desktop you aren't really investing in a light-weight easy to carry around machine. Desktops generally are cheaper for better specs than labtops. I've gotten pretty good at disconnecting then re-connecting my Desktop so I don't think I really need a Labtop. So my final verdict: Desktop
