Re: True, but is that not what caused the whole issue? The Inca and other past centra america civilizations condemning themselves to extinction with the destruction of their environment and overextension in their usage of their resources? The industrial revolution improving the lives of tens of millions, but also giving birth to major sources of polluition today? Desertification from the last century leading to poverty overseas? Even now thousands and thousands of rainforests are cut for farms and crops. I feel the problem doesn't lie in the way we use our environment, the problem lies in the way we are overextending our resources. We need to control overpopulation, and once that is accomplished, we will be able to lessen our destruction of the world around us as won't need to overextend our avaliable resources.
.. Thats crazy honestly with global warming and pollution i think we shouldnt being messing our climate anymore than it already is x.x
hm Overpopulation is another big issue. In america we "encourage" people to have more children. They get a bigger tax return they qualify for more goverment aid. In China they are encouraged to have less children. We should do something like this. If they only have one child their college is paid for and such.
Re: hm lol i dont really feel america is "encouraging" its citizens to have more children. Most familes in america make enough income that the extra tax credits from having children isnt inticing enough to endure the stress and responsibility, especially financially. Rasing a child costs more than the tax credit familes receive every year per child. Our population is increasing not from reproduction as in third world countries, but from immigration. In the most developed countries (america, japan, european countries), the population is actually either very stable, increasing slightly, or actually decreasing becuase of the improved healthcare and decreased poverty. Places like india and africa are seeing a MAJOR increase in population because of the extremely high birth rate to counter the high mortility and poverty rates. Theyre having 3-5 children per family, while america is having like 1-3. I HIGHLY disagree with china's one child policy. Theyre not being encouraged to have one child, theyre being forced to have one child. This means thousands if not millions of children every year are being denied the rights of life. Many others are being abandoned, mostly girls. Thousands of americans every year go to china to adopt these abandoned chinese baby girls becuase of this government ban.
Re: hm that is not the way it is anymore, that is the way to was in the past. I wasnt saying I agree with THAT. They no longer have restrictions on the children you can have. But they reward you for having less children. They pay for visectomies, birth control and so forth.
? if we changed the earth's climate with engineering it would mess things up, we can never control mother nature
