Yep, exactly my oppinion. The world needs balance, and since humans don't really have predators like animals do, disease is what keeps us from overpopulation. It seems unfair when you think about how nice someone you knew who died of cancer was but it's natural and necessary.

I do believe everything has a cure, even the severed spine that has been mentioned, even though it's not a disease. We will be able to use stem cells to learn how to regrow neurons and whatnot. The only diseases now that are hard to cure are viruses, becuase of their reproduction methods and how they attack their hosts. The only problem is that the more cures we find, the more diseases there will be, mainly as a sideproduct of our own technological advances and diseases adaptation. My 2 cents.

everything has a cure. if you throw a AIDS virus (hypotheically (i think i spelled it wrong xD) speaking) into a glass of alcohol it would die.... its just getting it into the body without killing the person that is the problem

Killing the virus in vitro isnt the problem...a cure is something that would need to have practical use.

for one...aids is not a virus, its the aftermath of the HIV virus, might be pernickety i know but i just wanted to make that clear cuz so many people mistake the two.

i believe with certainty that every disease has a cure, its just a metter of time before someone truly opens their minds and discovers it.

I do also believe that disease is a way to keep world populations down, jus like in the animal kingdom there is a life/eath cycle between predator and prey.

One last thing...i think for a lot of diseases that companies do actually have the cure for(or something very close to!) but think about it....make say for arguments sake 500 million for giving out the cure and thats it...OR make almost double that in the long run by handing out pills to prolong life

What makes HIV so difficult to cure is the fact that it is a retrovirus, and it goes after and conscripts to the DNA of the host. The only way to eradicate it is through a specific treatment, so although it is possible it is not feasible.

yea i know what hiv is and does, i studied it in depth in a biology course. all im saying is that there may be some way in the future to maybe mask the cells from the virus or maybe some revesetranscriptase type thing to disembed the virus from said cells.

what i do doubt however, is that we will actually find a cure before the virus dies out, as its doing so right now.

AIDS doesn't have a 'cure', hence, everything does not have a cure. :)

Are you saying that you believe AIDS will die out?
Dude, millions around the world have AIDS it'll take more than the introduction of condoms to third world countries to hinder the diseases spread.

the thing about viruses is that the mutate

Who knows. The HIV virus could mutate into a perfectly harmless virus at any day.

The fact that the virus is constantly changing is what makes it so hard to cure. People taking medications to help hinder HIV have to constantly change their medications to keep up with the changing of the virus.

If it mutates, on one person, that doesn't mean it will mutate exactly on each person with said disease.

If that were to happen, this whole idea would take a fair few years to take an affect.
the thing about viruses is that the mutate

if u actually read the news once in a while there is evidence to show that the hiv virus...not AIDS is becoming weaker through generations. regardless of who its inside think about it, a virus that replicates that quicky will have sooooo many errors and in itself when passed on from person to person is effectively passed on with these errors.

    jus incase u dont read:

oh and y are we discussing the potency of hiv anyway, its completely off topic lol
