Here's how everything popped off. 4 year old Hayden Wright's dad was recently sent to prison, and Hayden, who is very close with his dad, has begun acting up. His mom April told WTVC-TV in Chatanooga, "He runs away trying to find his father . . . He wants to get in trouble so he can go to jail because that's where his daddy is." Well the other night, when his mom was asleep, 4 year old Hayden did the unthinkable - imitating his father's behavior. First he got a can of beer, popped the top, and started drinking it. Then, after he became intoxicated, he went on a burglary spree in the neighborhood. We know this sounds unbelievable, but check out how WTVC is reporting it: The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office report says Hayden rang the doorbell a few houses down and the neighbor answered, finding the child holding a partially consumed 12-ounce beer. [April] said, "He got it out of my father's cooler in the back and how he got it open I don't understand because it was one of those tab beers." But it doesn't stop there. The report said Hayden then snuck into a neighbor's house through an unlocked front door, and stole five wrapped Christmas gifts. One was a girl's brown dress which Hayden was wearing when police found him. The first neighbors called the police and when they arrived on the scene, they saw Hayden stumbling down the street with a nearly empty can of beer in his hand, and wearing the dress that he stole. He was rushed to the hospital and had his stomach pumped to remove the alcohol from his system. Authorities do not plan on charging the boy with any crime.
Crazy thing is that the mother had safety devices on the doorknobs in his room but he busted them off, sadly he has been removed from his mothers custody at the moment and is staying with relatives.
is that really the mothers fault if she had everything in place to keep the kid in the room? Why take him away?
The reason they gave was that they were concerned why the child wanted to be with his father so bad. They seem to think that the kid wants away from his mom and not just to be with his dad. This sounds like normal kid stuff, he just had a bad role model. When I was about this age I walked into the garage and started cursing, when my mom asked me why I did it I responded with "well that's what dad does when he's in the garage".
I agree with brisk....It's hard to believe. Perhaps the media may have exaggerated a little? (As they always do)
It is very hard to believe that the neighbors didn't like bring him inside or something. I mean if a drunk 4 year old came to my house a rang my doorbell. I would atleast escort the little one back home. But Little one's do immitate, and look up to there peers. I teach my little nephew who is almost two. To punch people when he wants something. xD He's a little sh**. lol
It is quite unbelievable, due to 99.9% of the people on this forums ever hearing of such a thing before this incident. That is just crazy though, if it did happen. I can't imagine a drunk 4year old on my porch... Well, anything is possible in the world we live in today.
I think that this child was just doing what he think that was the only way to be close to his father again, we can't blame him.
