Pfft . In my opinion .. / rant ;DD How are they supposed to charge us with that ? ! Ngaww it's just a game ! --' Aren't fine's supoosed to about stuff that matters .. Who give's Crap about a game like neopets .. everyone cheats on it .. >.>
I've only ever heard of one person getting hit with something like that. I think it was Cheesie, he had to shut his cheat forum down i think. But he made another one... I could be wrong though, somebody confirm/deny?
That fine is so illegal it's making my sides hurt. An internet game can't slam you with a $500,000 fine for using cheat programs. Next thing you know the courts will start giving people 2-3 years for using gameshark. It's bullshit, where'd you read this from anyway?
^ FAIL read the first post for one it's $50,000 for making the program and $500 for using the program not $500,000/ half a million and second he found this in the neopets rules and regulations....
Ahaha FAIL. ^^^^^ This is one of the reasons I've always been cautious with cheating. Who knows, they may get mad and charge you....but how would they find you? IP?
Oh, dear fucking me I added a 0. ;/!!!!!! What difference does it make, a $50,000 fine is a hunk of bullshit. $500 is even a bullshit fine for using a program. I really don't believe they can do that. That's like saying "This sign in my front yard says if you step on my lawn you have to pay me $100,000."
I'm guessing now more than ever they would use this if you scam a customer they made a whole lot of money off via the NC mall you just stopped them making money and when an individual stops a major corporation from making $30 they take you to court and sue you for $50,000.
its been there since i started cheating i know... probably been there way longer... its bs though... i've never seen them hunt down people for using a cheat program... Only person i know they did anything to was ad0 i belive... who was a hacker that got neo pretty good. used a back door trick to get into the server and caused a bunch of troble. hes the only person i know tnt sued... (hes in jail now too, seeing as the hacking he did is quite illegal, lol)
Um, if you don't sign up you aren't subject to any of those terms. So technicaly, until they prove that you are using neopets and they have your account info you are safe. I have never seen them sue someone, and I doubt they will.
They need to link your NF or whatever cheating website account to your neopets account. ---- Who is ad0?
*pokes previos post* a big hacker basically... he used a back door trick to hack the neo server, caused alot of chaos... he got in BIG troble for it, lol
Technically, no. Just having a sign there isn't enough: but if you had the person sign a written agreement, and subject to breaking that agreement a fine is in place, that would stand up :/
If they really fine each time everytime someone uses a program then they would get A LOT  Wasn't there another guy who was a friend of him and hacked together? And how about Xero? :arf: He managed to get in the top accounts, for example on munsterpoo's account he set up a trade worth over 2 billion.. imagine he'd accept a junk offer on it
Even more fail ahahaha. Ever heard of the ToS? As soon as you sign up you agree to them ahahahahaha. Educate yourself
It wasn't CheeSie who was fined or whatever. I'm pretty sure Ad0 just got a slap on the wrist. Kaoskinesis (guy who did the big CG thing in like 05) had TNT contact his ISP and have them block him from accessing the site at all. It's called a "Packet ban" and it means that you can't even use a proxy to get on the site. The clause in the ToS is there to intimidate people. Neopets has close ties with Scientology (Hrrm. Notice TNT trying to cover up certain things that happen on the site?), which is why they threaten to sue people. The truth is, for the $500 fine, it would cost them FAR more than $500 to go after you for. As for the $50k fine? Neopets public reputation would go down the drain for suing some teenager for using cheat programs. "Online game website sues 14-year-old for $50,000". Nice headline right there. They'd open up pandora's box in terms of people breaking terms and conditions on websites. Could you imagine youtube saying they'll fine you 200k for ripping songs of videos off their site? Google fines you 10 million for copy-pasting off their site. Good stuff.
