Hello so I was browsing guilds and I saw this layout. I was wondering how you can achieve that sort of 3D text that pops out at you? Also the little dots and what not? I'm sure it's just a brush i'm guessing, with spacing out? I was wondering how you space out so when you use say..a basic brush it won't come out as a line when you hold on to your mouse and drag. Thanks ^^"

Yay you made me happy zer0 =) + rep for you duh. {Mwhaha I rounded yur rep to 140 :maha: } One more thing though I forgot to mention. How does it turn all glassy / shiny like?
no problem Well, the big white spot in the middle looks like a lens flare (filter > render > lens flare) I see a lot of layers with differing transparencies, giving a sort of a glassy look. Plus the colors she (the author looks like a she ) chose are very light and soft. And after the image was created, it seems that she bumped up the brightness of the entire picture a notch (I think its Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast). Remember, color is very important, gotta pick the right ones
Alright so I attemped it today. Just a brief attempt. But..the edges are so pointy and choppy and not rounded. Is it because of my font? =/ Yes i'm pathetic i know xD
Hm, looks like an anti-aliasing problem, but I'm not so sure since those are very jagged edges. Here's an anti-aliasing guide: http://www.lunaloca.com/tutorials/antialiasing/
the shiny can also be done by using the gradient tool with a low-ish opacity (say, 50%) on the letters layer. I also found these 3D letter tuts that I like: http://www.tutorialjungle.com/display.p ... ext-effect http://www.depiction.net/tutorials/photoshop/3dtext.php Also, it looks to me that they may have done something like this: http://www.bluesfear.com/tutorials/3Dshapes.htm And made the letter shapes individually. Though it seems a bit too complex. Or, you could use 3D software like Blender(though I HATE blender), and here's a list of free (and not free) ones: http://freeartsoftware.com/
silly gooses....hehe .... this is a fairly easy project, to get such a render of that quality i would honestly recommend maya, or something on that vibe, thats how u get the shading/ lighting .... as far as the dots go, its a star shaped brush at a very low diamater...the best way to get that shape(s) is to use the pen tool, draw out the pattern you want, right click and fill with brush...then you just add a contrasting glow to it...
Phee I <3 you!!! :yup: PLUS REP YOU ! randim - Although I don't like the fact that you called us silly gooses there is always more than one alternate method of doing so anyways Maybe I also ask what maya is any how? I've been working with photoshop for 7 years but there are still tools I don't know how to use as I mainly worked with vectors and layers / pen tools and stuff. You can't blame me Also the dots are jsut from basic round brushes and Zer0 already answered that question wayy above you. Way easier than what you explained too Thanks for effort anyhow..? But I pretty much got all the answer I wanted.
relax, silly goose offends you ?.. sorry heh....never said u had to do it my way, but anyhow; maya is a 3d rendering / animating software, pretty top notch, i used it a few years back when i was involved with gfx...looks like uve been around ps for a while, maybe you should have known u can use the pen tool to draw out paths? XD an example flyer i did using maya for the glo text
