Why does Neo continuously freeze accounts, and then encourage people to just recreate?
I figure they should just take away your assets, delete your pets or scatter your riches around to help local Neopians..

Most games learn, once you cheat... ban 'em for good. Neo says, "Hey, you messed up. Come back so you can do it again! :)"

One of the reasons is probably that neopets seem to freeze accounts at the drop of a hat and they often freeze when the person has done nothing wrong and just managed to RS incredibly quickly by pure chance, this way although the user loses their account they can start again if they choose to do so.

Also, this way it makes you start off the account age again, and any trophies etc. are lost as they could have been cheated.

Ive always wondered the same thing. I guess when it gets bad enough is when they ip ban you.
then you know they really dont want you around.

There's a catch22 with both of those, and why would any enterprising site want to do that?

Risks upsetting legit players, sending their playtime elsewhere (Twinskies.com, for example.).
