I've been using google, and apparently some people say you should get drums depending on the stuff you're guna play?
Well for the sake of it i'm probably going to do covers for some of my favorite bands like Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Sum 41, stuff like that {We all have diff taste in music so don't laugh!} These are the only music that really has drums. The rest of my music is something else.
My budget...i'll say around $1000. Preferably not going over or close of course.

I want them in black :)

haha girl drummer..they probably don't look too sexy do they o_o

Drums were never gender based, and if it's an interest, I don't think you should care if the player is a girl or guy.
    I played before.
    Don't be so sexist o_O

    Just sayin' :(

Hockay, so I don't have much information about buying drums.. BUT I have bought various banjos, bases, and guitars. Mostly guitars.

And the thing I need to stress to you is RESEARCH. My first guitar was a Behringer V-tone strat. And it was shit. All because I didn't put any effort into researching what would be a good beginner guitar, and what a fair price to pay for a Behringer is (<$10).

So read internet forums, yahoo answers, and other things like that that explain the best drums for a beginner (and if there aren't any threads explaining the best beginner instrument for punk rock, then make one, because a beginner/intermediate jazz drum set may be COMPLETELY different to a rock one).

Then, once the research is complete, go to your local music shop, and ask them if they have it, or if they can order it in. If they can, that's good for you, but see if you can get it for less on the internet and haggle or something, because music shop owners are scoundrels who overcharge like hell (about +100% on costs and import duty on Flamenco guitars). If they can't order it in, buy it over the internet, and pay the shipping, because it's worth it to get the right thing, Mooie. An extra $100 is worth it to give yourself a hobby you may enjoy for the rest of your life, as opposed to $100 less that destroys a possible hobby and a dream.
