I was wondering if anyone knew any good websites that have a collection of American Art Works...but to be overly-specific....

My American Lit. class is doing a huge 25-page (without bibliography and copy of article/poems/art etc.) that requires 25 works.

After working on it all day, I still need...

    - 4 Artworks (photographs,drawings,paintings)

    - 2 Novel Excerpts

    - 1 Song
    - 1 Essay/Speech/Newspaper/Non-fiction
    - 1 Short Story (fiction)

---All must relate to my morbid theme of "Death." Even loosely related.----

It sounds like a lot, because it is. I'm not asking anyone to type any papers at all, writing is easy and I'm not about to plagiarize. I just need help finding things... Just links to websites with the art.
Out of everything I need I would really like
    -Art and Novel Excerpts-
    But anything will do.

I don't think anyone will help with this but if you do I would be so thankful.

Well as far as Literature goes, Edgar Allen Poe is obviously well known for his dramatic and sometimes gruesome death themes. Emily Dickinson also had some death themes going on in her poetry but I'm thinking that won't help you. Moby-Dick (Melville) also features tragic death in a death results in life type thing.
Again I don't know if that was what you were looking for at all but I thought I'd try my hand at helping you with whatever I had!

Edit: Ok apparently this site has it programmed to automatically change the wording of inappropriate words, like the title of Melville's book, to something less offensive. so I wasn't trying to be funny or anything o.0

Hahah, that was a funny filter-moment...erm...anyways...

Hey, that actually did help me out, thanks! Four of my poems are by Edgar Allan Poe, and so are two of my short stories...

But thanks for reminding me about Emily Dickenson, I remember reading one of her poems in class about Death and her in a carriage pulled by multiple-headed horses...

And thanks x2 for reminding me about the (I DON'T KNOW IF THE FOLLOWING ARE SPOILERS, BUT THEY'RE ABOUT THE END OF MOBY DICK .................................................................JUST TRYING TO BE CAREFUL)

deaths of all the characters in moby dick

I was looking for a book excerpt and that's perfect for one of the two that I need. Thanks for helping me out, I'll rep you when I get the points, hopefully one of the 3-4 people I helped with their homework will return the favor.
    Thanks again for your help.

My advice, google google google. lol google has gotten me through so many projects, EVERYTHING is on there. But if you need scholarly sources or literature sources, why not check out the resrouces at your school? I'm sure they have acess to a lot of good online resource networks like JSTOR or web of science and whatnot. These cost a lot of money to join, but your school may have access and you can use it free through them.

That's a good idea. I should have thought about using that digitalized catalog thing our school has before I went home this weekend ... and they locked up the library... and it's due in 2 days!

Google is a savior, you're right. I've gotten most of my "items" for the project by Google-ing while of course checking the validity of the info ^_^

I was just wondering if there was one place where I could search for Art by keyword. I tried the National Government Archives but most of the stuff I got from my search were the titles of the art, then when I searched the name on the almighty Google...nothing!

    Thanks for the tip though!

It's ok. I declare this topic finished...somehow... XD

I only have a few more to do, I just used a bunch of photographs from World War II, U.S. Civil War, etc.
