I spent a lot of time playing this game years ago. I also have the DS version but don't play it as often. I tried doing wi-fi but the people I had on my friends list never got on.. I was sort of dissapointed with the way they did friends, made it hard to experience the multiplayer feature. Hopefully they will make one for the Wii and make multiplayer easier

Well, they are making one for the wii. You have to understand why the DS version did bad though. People expected it to be BETTER quality then a gamecube game. The Ds is like a portable downgraded version of a nintendo 64. People got their hopes up, and then when they realized it was missing ALOT of features they blamed the creators. This was just a problem with expectations. Either way the wii version will OBVIOUSLY be much better. Not only does the wii have wifi aswell, but the wii version will be BETTER quality then the gamecube. Obviously this alone will make it worth playing. I expect that with the new system they will be able to add many new features, without having to take out everything that was fun.

that would be neat if they implemented motion, like when catching bugs or going fishing you use the Wiimote. I didn't mind the graphics and how they took out some stuff. They also added A lot! Like hats, haircuts, several higher house upgrades, different events.. etc.. I was still pleased

What annoyed me most was that they took out some of the simpler things that made it fun like quests for animals. They also made the fishing/bug system a real pain. Getting items was not interesting, because they all look horrible in the small screen. I guess it is a matter of opinion, but I would much rather play my gamecube version.

Wow! I wondered why I couldn't get quest from animals.. now I know.. ya that kinda made it pointless to talk to your neighbors. But they still give you free stuff a lot of the times if you talked to them. I didn't mind the graphics too much

I have the DS version as well - the main reason I bought it was to try out the whole visit a friend crap and I never did get to experience it because like you said... they did a shitty job setting it up - they should have made it so you can visit the town any time at anyday as long as you're on that person's friend list. 'Cause I mean, I dont plan on calling up my friend and saying 'Hey! Turn on AC, I wanna visit your town!" ..

Ya, well the reason why they have it that way is because their town is only in.. virtual reality if you will, when they are playing. Once they turn off their ds Technically their world does not exist... my problem with it was sending friend codes back and forth. I wouldn't have mind if they made it so anyone could come to your town as long as your gate was open while you were playing.

Yeah that made me a lil disappointed too, I originally thought that was how it was going to be - if it was it'd probably appeal to more people, the friend code crap was a bit of a hassle. I havent turned the game on in months, town is probably all weeds by now.

It was fun for a while, then it became boring and repetitive...
