I am looking to buy a laptop but I have no idea where to start looking =L I have a £500 budget and am looking for an all round laptop, mainly for when I go to university later this year. Any help would be much appreciated.
I just bought my Asus U50F off newegg. It cost around 600$ CAD, and I love it too death. No problems at all, and I'm sure you could find many people willing to back up Asus as a great computer name.
Cheers that looks quite nice. I was looking at this acer http://www.comet.co.uk/p/Laptops/buy-ACER-LX.R4702.023-Laptop/701491 and quite like the specs of it. I have now decided that £400 is probably a better budget. Could I get some opinions of the acer please and maybe some alternatives :arf:
Our family's desktop was an acer, worked pretty well in my books. My only brands I'd stay away from is HP and Compaq
If you want to quadruple your budget in favour of getting something hilariously overly, then look up the Panther 2.0
The new Acers are very good laptops specially the Acer with doble screen or something I can't remember the name and the Lenovo 3D.
i would go for alienware m11 its about 900$ but if your serious about getting one, it would be a good one.
Although the AMD processor has 3 cores, most Intel processors outperform AMD processors, regardless of the number of cores. And from experience, I bought laptops for my mom and my sister, and you can already see the Intel processors outlasting and outperforming the AMD. If I remember correctly, I think an 8 core Intel outperformed a 16 core AMD, benchmark wise and in multiple tests. If you revert back to your £500 budget, perhaps check this out: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Xplo ... _Notebook/ You can customize and give or take on the price, but that comes with an i7 processor Check out this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834214357 Sexy Intel quad-core (1.73 GHz w/ boost up to 2.93 GHz) with dedicated Nividia graphics. If I were you, I would definitely take this one, the price is right in the range and it has awesome specs (webcam, 3.5 hour battery, 640 HDD, . If you had a little more cash, you can take a look at the CyberPower one above. And lastly: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6834215085 Intel Quad-core (2.00 GHz w/ Boost up to 2.9 GHz), integrated graphics. Slightly more expensive than the Toshiba, but shipping free so they both come up to around the same price. This one, with integrated graphics, has 4.5 hours battery, which is a trade off. But to conclude before I have to run, I would take the Toshiba.
You check out some nearest lap top computer dealer, and visit to each and every, enquiry for all models and get brochures for all models, at last you compare with services and price than after you decide that which lap top computer should be purchased.
If you are planning on taking the laptop to class you might want to consider getting a small netbook or something. From experience lugging a full sized laptop to take notes gets really annoying. If it's going to be your only computer though, it might not make sense.
Stores that you might check include Malpin Electronics, Currys.digital, PC World, and Dixons. Collect prices for different models of laptop from different manufacturers, getting as close to your ideal configuration as you can without going over the price limit that you set.
