Apple iMac, 3.4 GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 2GB AMD, 2 TB HDD

    Thought I'd get along with the spammers and tell you what I've just bought!

    27" iMac :D

    Should arrive in four days!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG.

    Can I expand the RAM to 16 GB after I buy it? It was like $450 to add another 8 GB of DDR3, and I was like naw...

    Yeah, what I would have done would get dual Xeon processors. That enables 2 processors to access triple channel memory and it usually is cheaper.

    Quad Core i7 @ 3.4 GHz

    All in all it was $3537 with the 3-year AppleCare package :)

    $3799.00 for dual Xeon 2.4 GHz Quad-Cores (8 cores total), and everything else matches your specs posted. AppleCare-less though :(.


    It's a Mac Pro, but if you were really serious about a computer, Will, I would've bought the parts myself and built my personal computer. But I'm guessing you wanted the iMac for its all in one?

    Technically not because having too much memory can cause problems when overclocking. XD

    That goes for i7 processors but Xeons are exempt because you usually don't and can't overclock them much or at all. They run amazing at stock speeds though.

    I considered building it myself, but I couldn't be assed...

    The all in one is nice, but I also bought it for the OS X and the ridiculously high-resolution screen :)

    And the fact that it sleeps and resumes instantly and puts out no sound or heat when it sleeps is amazing. My current computer is the loudest thing on Earth and is hot in all the wrong places :p
