Everyone I know keeps telling me that no one is trustable on the internet. I guess it's wrong in some cases, but what confuses me is that people who don't go often to the internet are the ones who insist more in that, and they seem not to believe that not everyone in the internet is a thief/phaedophilie(or how they spell it).
I know a lot of people in real life that are online exactly how they are in real life.

I might be wrong though, so what do you think of this subject?

"know a lot of people in real life that are exactly how they are in real life."
You might want to edit that part. ^_^

I am not so trusting about the people on the internet, anyone can be anything they want to be.
It has been just recently that I got in touch with someone I met online.
We have been playing the same game for like a year and so and been talking via messenger.
And we met and they were who they were online.

Still not very trusting of people, that's just me.

I agree anyone can be what they want, I exercise caution, but I do give people the benefit of the doubt, I have met 2 of my long term relationships online, thru gaming, but I have also met some real evil people I think you just have to exercise some intuition and common sense when dealing with others but on a whole I think most people are honest.

People are completetly different on the internet than in real life.
For starters, everyone is much more social. You wouldn't listen to someone's conversation in secreacy and then just rush up to them and give them your opinion on things.
Also, since you don't have to look people straight in the face, many people are alot more rude on the internet. People insulting everyone just because they're too shy in the real world.
But then again, there's some people who are pretty much the same in real life as on the web. =)

This question generalizes too much for a black or white answer.

So with that said, it's really by a case by case basis. You should trust the people online as much as you do in person. Not everyone you meet will be good natured but not everyone you meet will take advantage of you, either.

Unfortunately, some people lack common sense and experience with both online and face to face people and they are the victims.

I won't say I'm an expert but if someone gives me a slight warning they aren't trustworthy (or basically a pain in the ass) I just stop talking to them. That goes for people face to face, too, haha

Well, most of my friends are the same online as they are in real life. But you do get several people that can act different. I've got one friend that's a bit quiet when he's in person, but can turn into an aggressive guy when he's playing dota or even talking online. It's pretty funny to see the change.

As for people I don't know personally, it doesn't really matter to me who they are in real life. Unless I have an intention to meet them. Which in most cases doesn't happen, unless they are introduced through a friend.

I'm a bit different online. Online, I can talk more easily, and express my opinion more clearly. I never dare to do that in real life.

people tend to lie/exagagrate more online.

me myself? Im more condifent, outgoing, funny and easier to understand online.
never relaly lie much tho, xD (A)

Spose just being behind a screen makes u more condifent and easier to talk to ppl (esp girls)

    Met 2 girls online.
1 i was with for a month, ended neutrally. Was exactly who they said in pics etc
1 i was with for 4 and half months, (jess as some may know) lived 100miles or so away. My best relationship yet :) <3
so i trust pretty much anyone :p

I'm pretty much the same on the internet as I am irl...kind of a jerk, lol.

I'm not one to like, find a boyfriend online (like Stephen), but I'm not super skeptical until the person gives me a reason to be. :)

That meant to be a cheap insult?

not all of us are confident to talk to girls in real, and online chats make it easier to mix and get along. then when u do meet u have more of a laugh instd of all the nervous stuff.

Online makes it easier, and u cnat help who ur attracted to and fall in love with. So be it if she was 100miles away. was happy times :)

It wasn't meant to be an insult, Stephen.

    It's just not for me. I don't do distance...plus, I'm super cute.
    No confidence issues here...lol

Erhm, do you mean like internet girlfriends or did you actually meet them?
Alot of people seem to meet over the internet, speak on the phone a couple of times and consider themselves a couple.
    Weird to me.
