Most retired books are probably as high as they're gonna go for a while, the prices don't go up too high, I think a book that been retired for 3 years or so, started at 100k and has only moved up to 350k now. It is worth the investment if you buy them in bulk, but for a few on hand I wouldn't say it is worth it, there are a lot better things you can go for as investments.

again, depends on the book, theyll go up in price, but it wont be a short process, itll take a while to profit off of retired books, most of the cheaper ones still have a lot in circulation, and there arent that many book collectors/readers around

its another thing that ud need bulk of to profit from significantly, and it would take a while

ive been watching a couple books for the past 2-3 years, only price jumps ive seen have been 20k at most

    pretty much what he said.

Well depending on how much you have to invest with there are different items. There is no real investment that is a fast turn around unless it becomes a vital part of an avatar or something of the sort like that, which most of us would never know until after everyone else knows. So, how much do you have to spend?

if everybody knew wed all be rich

the best items to invest in, are already 200 mil+

its hard to say what to invest in as far as cheap items, but if you stay on the lookouy for something that may be worthwhile, consumable items are usually good investments, if not too many are released and they get used up quickly

Hmm most of the good investments are way higher, around 50mill range, I love candychan stamp as an investment, especially if you can afford more then one as it is an avatar item, as well as a stamp which means limited are left, same for snowbunny stamp. I think they've gone up a few mill this year, 09-2010, already.

But for 6mill you'd probably have more luck saving up to buy a candychan stamp, then buying it, because with that you wont make much profit off a 6mill investment, it'd take years for you to make a lot of money for the initial buy to be worth it in my opinion.

Actually, the problem with that is TnT stated the avatar recipe will probably change to keep it a challenge, so therefore he might take a loss on that book if indeed the recipe does change.

It was in an editorial shortly after the avatar was found, I forgot what the question was exactly but it was asking if the avatar will be a seasonal avatar and if so will it be the same recipe next year, paraphrase of course, and TNT said that it will be season and the recipe changing is a good idea that they hadn't thought of, and will most likely be using it.

I don't think they will change it, maybe they're trying to confuse people to not let the book inflate that much.

I had already begun to sell them though (invested in 6 of them when they were like 70k) XD

Well good sir, you have more patience then I do because I would not be able to buy that many codestones lmao
Please don't double post, there's an edit button
Don't get me wrong, I hope the recipe doesn't change, I have a few books myself and I need the avatar again so I'd be happy with it, but I only bought a few so I wouldn't take a huge loss if the recipe is switched.

Books are not an instant investment. They are things you invest in if you plan to be away from the game for long periods of time (ie. 12 months +)

About 18 months ago I invested about 10 mill in some books that were released as part of a Burger King promotion, these were books that were obtained via redeeming promotional codes from Burger King. As I knew there would only be a small amount of books to EVER enter the neopets world and that books are a sought after commodity I purchased my 10 million worth of books knowing the price would only ever go up. 18 months later if I now chose to start slowly selling the books I'll be making an aprox. 400% profit (I'll be getting 40mill back). Additionally I could just chose to never sell the books. I only ever log onto Neopets (or come here) about once ever 3 or 4 months, so in another 18 months there is a fair chance that when I come back I'll find that the books are again work twice/three times as much.

My point is, only invest if you have large amounts of money and can wait prolonged periods of time without selling your purchased item.
