There has to be, I mean, our galaxy, the Milky Way, is estimated to contain 200 billion stars but the number might reach 400 billion. That's a lot of planets to search for life... that's in our galaxy ALONE.. there are billions of galaxies, with billions more stars in each.. and our Galaxy is reletively SMALL compared to most... so to assume Earth is the only planet with life on it, is kind of farfetch'd.

Yes, our sun is a Star, and Earth/Mars/Venus etc. are not stars, but, with a sun, ALWAYS comes planets, whether these planets are rocky, like Earth, or just gas, like Jupiter/Neptune, there will always be planets revolving around a star to some degree. So if there are over 200billion stars out there, in our system, then there has to be at least double that in planets, even if they don't harbor intelligent life, there is some sort of life on random planets already, like those micro-organisms found on Mars, that is life, but I think you meant intelligent life, lol.

I don't doubt it, it's completely improbable to think that we are the only life forms out there. It's actually pretty egotistical of us.

i say yes just we haven't found them and they haven't found us
i mean they could be 10000 light years away but they probably still exist

im not exactly sure about this, perhaps theres no 'life forms' as we think of it, the existence of some other beings are possible. its just that i doubt they have the same kind of "life" that is here on earth.. eg. probably dont have dna and such

yes, there are probably other species that can live without light in other places far away and i find it hard to believe with how big space is, earth is the only place that people can live on, which is y i think there are other things living as well

    yep

I agree, there HAS TO BE!

i mean our universe is SO HUGE that most humans can not even begin to get a grip on how huge it is.

And to think we are the only ones alive, not to mention like ourselves.... thats just selfish.

And this included nonintelligent life to. Like microbes and bacteria and such.

One day... We will find out about other life. I hope im around when it happens

Call me a geek, or a nerd, but I love Astronomy, I study it frequently, rather, daily, and hope to involve my life in some basis, with Astronomy. The 'exploring of the unkown' if very fascinating for me.

Back to main-topic, yes, there has to be some sort of inteligent life in space, HAS to be. But like someone said, it probably wont be in the form of a humanoid or have DNA or whatnot. We might be looking for the wrong thing, and passed it already, who knows.

Right, we're looking for the 'life forms' to resemble us, but we have nothing to lead us to that conclusion. There could even be life on Mars if we could find evidence of some organic compounds.

I'm a Christian too, but I also believe in Science (No I don't believe in Evolution one bit, but thats for another debating thread) we cannot be the only planet out of quadrillions of planets out there, probably more than a couple quadrillion actually, that has a good source of life living on it.

Well I guess there could be others; its just too hard to know. The Milky Way is thought to be only a small part of the universe.

And I agree with you on the evaluation part; how the hell was the earth made from mud being zapped by lighting?

If you do a lot of research, like me, on Astronomy, you'll find that the Milky Way is only 0.019% of the Universe... there are not enough pages in the Spam section of this site, for me to type how many Kilometres the Universe contains.. lol.. instead they use lightyears, and the furthest KNOWN galaxy from us, named Abell 1835 IR1916, is 13,230 MILLION light-years away from us... and by the way

    1 light year
    =
    9,460,730,472,580 Kilometres(KM)...

*twitch* that is like, faaaar. What I wonder is that if humans would ever be able to develop something to go the speed of light? Then, we might be able to land on Pluto.

So am I, but it's pretty egotistical of us to think that we are the only life forms that and entity could possibly love. (Although I agree that evolution is a no go.) And even God keeps secrets too sometimes, who said he told us everything? :p

I think their would have to be other lifeforms out there, its too close minded to think that their atleast couldn't be
