I'm guessing that some of you will have heard about the attempted car bomb at Glasgow Airport. And guess who was making her first visit to Glasgow that weekend.. That would be me. I flew up on Friday and then was due to fly back on Sunday, but because of the delays I ended up getting home at 5am this morning. I didn't bother going to bed so I was having to work really hard to stay awake at work today. I think I'll sleep well tonight!

Strange thing was, this attack seems to be being linked to the attempted London car bombings of last week, but seems so badly organised. I mean, the people didn't even bother to check that they would be able to drive the car through the glass completely into the terminal. The car was stopped by security bollards and if they'd researched it, they would have know that was what would happen..

Nastiest time to do it too. It was the day after the Scottish schools finished for the Summer so the airport was full of loads of families with young children getting ready to go on their holidays..

wow... must have been terrible being there... but I suppose they probably meant to do it on the day schools were let out, for the most possible casualties..

To be honest, the worst part was the delay in the airport. The city was largely unaffected - things just went on as normal. We saw a lot of police and fire engines go past where we were in the city centre and wondered what had gone on, but that was the only indication anything had happened. We had no idea there was a problem until later that evening when we put the TV on in the hotel room.

Does seem very odd to be so badly organised. And you are right they would have known about being stopped at the security bollards. Makes you wonder why they did it like that. Maybe the bombs weren't supposed to go off? Could be they just wanted the attention. Or maybe it was supposed to be some sort of distraction for something? Very strange indeed.

I didn't hear about it, but I'm assuming by "attempted" that no one got hurt or anything, so that's good.

I'm sure that would have been a little scary to have been around for that. (And sucky for the delays!)

    :)

Is it a terrorist attack? Many people died and was hurt because of the doing of evil people.

I don't think we can die just because some crazy people want to destroy us. Ok, it's thier religion which implements death... but why do we consider "Satan" a bad thing? Cause it's all about death, destruction... lots of people died because of ther belief in Satan, and I think it's not good (a minor punishment would have been better). So why don't the WORLD BAN this religion? I really can't understand...

IMHO, I hope Islam will fall.

Ye you are so right. Most of people base themselves in religion because their afraid of death, what's coming after. But why do they die for their religion? Don't they understand that by doing that, they're gonna face that 'after-death' scene sooner than if we all live peacefully?
