No you can't, you don't get anything except a couple of avatars. For me I do it just for the sheer fun of it.

If you know a war is imminent, you could go check for good weapons that will rise when war comes. For example, I bought 2 golden compass for 240k each but now it rose to about 400k each

 

great tips, shows you that just because an items costs 99k doesnt mean it stronger than a 4k scarab ring
