Ahhh i wanna talk to some1 about the essay section. For those of u who dont know, the calc AP exam was today and it was pretty challenging compared to the calculus class itself... Any1 remember the answer to question 1 part D? and question 6 part C... Yahh talk to me
I took the BC test today, though we probably had some of the same questions. I think I had a logistics thing, particle position stuff, area/volume bounded by 2 curves, and stuff I can't really remember anymore. Sadly for me, our Calc BC class is much, much harder than the AP so the AP's pretty much a joke for us. >_>
Gosh I feel old...when I took the AP exam there was no AB, BC....it was all one course. I got a 5! WOOHOO
yes three of our questions were the same, I believe the one with the pond (bonded area) and I belive that annoying problem that started with asking where the particle was furthest to the left or something... I skipped 1A, sorta BSed 1B, and got 1C, 1D correct. Did u figure out the first part of 1A? the question about the particle furthest to the left... Oh yea, at my school, the AB AP class starts out REALLY easy, w/ every1 making As, but by the end, half of the class stuggles for their Cs. Strangely enough, I made B+ and A- the 1st 2 terms, but 96 the last/hardest term b/c i really didnt do anything in the class up until a few weeks ago. I believe i made a 5, but cant really say for certain.
OOh! I took the test!! I didn't get the last problem for the free response section at all!! it was like lnx/x and the last part was what it equals to as x approaches 0.. I left that completely blank it was my first ap test and i was surprised how strict the test was, we had to like seal our booklets O-0... i think they should do that for SAT tests too
Yeah that was it. It should have been when x = 8, t=3 since that's when the integral/area under curve was most negative. Then b was that there was only one place at which x = 8 since after t=3 the positive area overtakes the negative area, which never quite catches up.
do you remember what part c was asking? i remember my answer for part b and c were like really similar.. and it seemed too deceptively easy
The limit of lnx/x as x approaches 0? That would be L'Hopital's rule wouldn't it? So undefined is the answer I think. Not really. If someone were to give me a hint, I'd remember what I'd put but currently, no. I had a pretty sucky headache throughout the free response so after I finished I kinda just went to sleep. But we do get the green/blue books back in 2 days.
Oh that's right, but we're getting the score back in july!!! so long to wait!! I think i got a 4, what score do you think you got?
I'll be pretty depressed if I don't get a 5, especially since our BC teacher has an AP average of 4.6 or something. Though I do remember one more from the BC test. There was a question about the number of people in line to buy tickets. Did you have that one?
yes I rememeber that one you had to find the rate of change of the people in the line, i am not sure if i did it right.. you're suppose to estimate
Yep.. "Lope it" as my teacher would say, I got that one.. yea i hated that stupid questions with the ppl in the line. I got the left riemann sum etc, but i cudent seem to get the right integral to get all the tickets sold or somthin... O well. today i talked to my teacher and he says that alotta ppl probably got the oil slick question wrong... You had to start off with V = pi r2 h.... obviously, then you had to use prod rule and implicit it up... they gave u the values of the change in volume, 2000, the dr/dt (2) and the r (100), and the h(.5).. Once u implicitify u have: dv/dt = pi(2r dr/dt h + r^2 dh/dt) ==> 2000 = pi( 200(2)(.5) + 100^2 (dh/dt)) ==> I then just sent all the crap to the other side and got (2000/pi - 200(2)(.5))/100^2 which i boxed cuz u dont have to further solve from ther... that shud be close to what you got if ur right, bur im not sure about those numbers cuz ther from memory, so they might be a bit switched or off... Uhhhmm yea soo i believe i got a 5, but I tend to mess up standardized tests... Cough (psat math) cough cough, 4 is pretty much the same, so w/e,,, BTW.. is any1 taking Physics C AP, mechanics crazy crap this or next year?? Im signed up for it, but im having some possible regrets due to my next yrs ridiculous junior course load. I hear the AP isnt bad? Let me know im interested in it
I took BC and thought it was pretty easy. On the other hand, AP Spanish Lang AKA Are you a native speaker? is probably the hardest AP I'll take and has a good chance of ruining my streak of 5's. In fact, at least as far as the courses my school offers goes, I don't think there's one harder than Spanish Lang. AP US tomorrow. Much fun.
I didn't take the spanish AP but from what I heard, it was hell. And everyone at my school has to retake the listening section since no one could hear the tape. The test was taken in the gym and the tape/cd player was place infront of a microphone (stupid I know) so it echoed everywhere. Everyone complained and so they're all doing it over again. But the AP Computer Science AB was super hard too. I didn't even attemp the last free response problem. Except that's probably my teacher fault. He basically prepares us on the A material with is only half (and the easy half at that) of the test stuff.
My school is all laptop required, so the comp sci classes are always amazing. The teacher is a beast, and last year every kid in the AB class(9 ppl) got a 5! Its pretty safe to say that having a laptop in class gives students in my school a massive edge on laptop-less students. Im currently in Comp sci honors then next year ill take A then AB. Honors is reallllllly hard the teacher sucks at curving, honors being so hard,....im nervous for AP next year
AP US was cake. I took AB CS last year and found it pretty easy, but I had taken an Intro to CS course before taking APCS. Probably harder if it's your first programming class.
