a debit card to verify paypal?
Like pay $20 for a debit card, register with paypal, and then have $20 in my account?
There's another thread about this somewhere but I didn't want to gravedig.

To verify? I am pretty sure they need a bank account.

Well, I really don't know anything about Paypal but I guess what I'm asking is:
Could I give Paypal the number of a debit card and have the balance of the card transferred to my (unverified) paypal account?
My parents won't let me verify with my bank account because they're pretty paranoid about the internet, and I don't have a credit card.

I don't think you can do that. I don't deal with Paypal toooo often but I am pretty sure to verify you need a bank account.

I'm pretty sure you can verify your account with a Bank Account or with a Credit Card.

I don't think debit cards work for this.

You need to use your bank account and give them your checking info.

PayPal's really trustworthy in that they won't take your money or anything (but they're pretty bad in terms of customer service and protecting sellers and such!),

Yeah all my friends have paypal and they've never had problems but my parents are just too paranoid. I think I'm gonna give one of my friends some cash and just have him transfer the equivalent into my account.
