Here's a nubbish tutorial on how to change your Log On Screen.

    What is Logon Studio?
Logon Studio is a program that changes the background of your log on screen. The first thing you do is visit this site to download it. http://www.stardock.com/products/logonstudio/. When you visit this site, click on download button like shown in the picture below.

After you click download, it will link to another page which give you the choice to download a xp version or a vista one. Click on download on the vista version like it is shown on the picture below.

After you click on download, it should link you to another page. A prompt should then pop up asking you to save the exe. Click on save and after it is downloaded, the icon should look like this. Click on it to run it.

If you already clicked on the set up, it should bring you to this window. Keep clicking on next until you reach the finish.

If you followed it correctly and clicked on "next" a few times, it should've installed and lead to this window. Click on finish and you have the option to launch it right away if you decide to click on the checkbox. Go ahead and click on the check box if you're planning to change your log on screen now.

If you launched the LogOnStudio, it will bring you this window. Go ahead and click on download and it should bring you to this page: http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=65. If you're going to be changing you log on backgrounds a lot, I suggest signing up for wincustomize so you have more choices of backgrounds.

After you download something you want, click on load and will bring you to the window where you browse for your downloads. I personally chose the LakeWolfGang background like shown in the pic below. Go ahead and click open and it should appear on your list of backgrounds.

If you find one that you want, download and load it. Then just click on the background you want. It should be highlighted like shown in the picture and just click apply. After clicking apply, it should take you back to the log on screen so you know how it looks.

There you go. Now you have a new log on screen background . This is the end of this simple tutorial. I was going to add a "before" and "after" pics of my log on screen but the print screen didn't work. Have fun and I hope you find this tutorial somewhat helpful. :)

Keep in mind that Stardock programs are notorious for being very hard to uninstall from your comp.

Windowblinds is impossible to uninstall. I'm not sure about this one.
