What are the available domain names? How much disk space is there (as we all know "unlimited" just means "use as much as we have available" and not "use as much as you want/need")? Is Fantastico included? It's hard, but when something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. It'd also be best not buy a host without a contract, as 1. you're better protected, and 2. you don't want someone shutting down your site randomly and erasing all your hard work.
