I stumbled upon this program, looking for something for my dad to use for his job.
It's a program where a computer can control YOUR desktop (with permission), but you can also control it. I imagine that for some people, who are kinda worried about having someone access their account for an avatar, they could simply have both parties download TeamViewer. Once going through all the proper steps, both people (buyer and seller) could be watching the screen as the seller gets the avatar.
Bonus news: If you go through the right steps, and they're simple, it acts as the buyer's IP, because the seller is controlling the buyer's screen, and websites recognize the buyer's IP, not the seller's ;)
In essence, you need not worry about proxies if you go through TeamViewer, though it's a little laggy in my experience :(

This lag can be partly cured by staying in the session for a few minutes, and by reducing the processes running, as well as any computer-specific stuff (ie, delete a complex background if a slower computer is controlling yours)

    Any ideas on this?

I've used TV before but not for cheating...for getting something like a flash avatar it would be far too laggy imo. It would probably be ideal for lending items...although still the seller could get scammed since both parties control the screen.

Righto, I do understand the lag issue, but I hadn't even thought of lending!
The benefit is that the scammer would have to do a LOT of work to overcome the control of the other person, and it would be easy for the other person to prove that it was a scam. That's my line of reasoning :yup:

That's a great idea. I've never heard of or used the program before, would anyone want to give it a try?

I've got something a little bit easier...
    called LogMeIn.

The "viewer" run in a Java applet in explorer or firefox.
It's free for the personnal one. This product is a real business oriented software...
it's complete, fast, and you have numerous option.
Just to give an idea how professional this software is (feature available to pro version):
    -stream sound WITH NO LAG
-you can print on the remote host (nothing to setup)
-you can drag/drop files/folder directly from the host to the remote or the other way around
    -shutdown/restart/cold start/monitoring/diagnostic

For a big business, it's alot bigger than that, from server backup to full maintenance.

As for installation, you simply open an account there, and download the client needed for remote connection.
This download contains your LogMeIn ID so the remote only needs to install the program and his computer will automaticaly appears in your PC list on the web site. Once it's done, the remote uninstall and it's done.
No configuration, no nothing, you won't even know what the IP of the pc is (unless you know what you're doing).

It far easier, safer and user friendly IMO.

I've been using this for almost 2 years now and I love it !
