Ok. This has been bugging me for a while. What the hell is with all the long signatures jammed pack full of links to guides you've written? I honestly don't think anybody gives a damn. Plus, it gets in the way when I'm trying to actually READ threads and certain individuals have like 16 lines of text as their signature.

    What I find extremely ironic are the signatures that include a link to the site rules. You know since one of the rules is as follows;

And yes, I'm aware that even one of the Administrators has like 400 lines of text in their signature. *cough* Zer0 *cough*

    Edit: 666'th post. Just sayin'

I've let them slide for a few reasons, One I have them turned off, Two 95% of posting users with long sigs also have a lot of award banners. Hence even a 1line post will take 60% of the screen up with blank space due to box being extended due to the banners. So having a sig there is no harm. The size of files is a very old rule, I'm sure any PC can load up pictures above 150kb easily now.

Oops, but do the extra lines of text actually affect users that adversely

It's not too bad but yeah, it becomes an annoyingly big box for just one or two lines of actual message.

    Reason for my big siggy:

-download section is messed up and almost impossible to find what you're looking for...
-before the Itrader thing, there's was no way of keeping trace of trades (until the thread in the BM)
-so much awards, it doesn't change anything

I really don't see the problem. I've never been bothered by any siggies..

In this thread, this is the only post where the siggy goes past the user awards. So I really don't see the problem since awards stretch the page a bunch anyway. And if someone's computer actually takes a significant amount of time to load 150 kb, one is in definite need of a new computer/internet connection.
    Just sayin.

Ok -- the issue, for me at least, isn't necessarily the images. It's all the damn "HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT ALL MY AWESOME GUIDES!" crap. I'm going to say what other people won't say, and tell you all that nobody gives a shit about how many useless guides you've written. If you really want to toot your own horn that bad, create yourself a thread, list all of your super awesome, un-necessarily long, and pointless guides in that thread, then you can have just one line of text in your signatures pointing everybody (even though nobody ever clicks on your guides) to one page with all your crap.

You're all making it very difficult for me to lurk the site using my phone when I'm at work for 12+ hours per day. And that makes baby jesus cry.

Those I've seen has been spoilered. And I don't see the big issue here? "All that crap" - excuse me, but people used time on these guides, so it's kinda rude of you to say that.

From what SoC says, you are able to turn off signatures. Have you tried that ?

    What about working instead ?
And I don't think that my guides/tutorials are THAT pointless.
I created them because I was fed up of all the PMs for the same request.

I don't know if this forum is tapatalk ready...
