Is there a way to get past IT blocks on websites and downloads that a company puts in place without the company ever finding out? Basically, I want to be able to check my email and maybe use AU at work...

Well isn't that funny. That site is blocked by whatever blocks my access to all other fun websites.

Nope. All blocked. What I am really finding funny is that neopets itself isn't block.

All of your suggestions are blocked. :(

This is what is says when I try to access a blocked website:
This Websense category is filtered: Proxy Avoidance. Sites in this category may pose a security threat to network resources or private information, and are blocked by your organization.

My work does that too. There won't be an open website to use to get around it, trust me. You'd have to find a way around it other than something on the internet that is being blocked. But anything more invasive and it would more than likely be noticed. Good luck though!

    used to work at school
the 17a.a can be replaced with anything - 13 and 5 used to work real good :)
there might not be any way around it, here at home dad has an openDNS blocking thing. If thats the case at your work, then there might not be any way around it.

Or, make friends with one of the IT people. they might know away around it - at my dad's work, they had this faster line out of the building that they had been "testing" for a few years ;D

No wireless to be found. Thank you all for all your help, I'm bummed nothing worked. I'm only here for four months so I guess I will just have to suck it up. At least I have access to neofriends and neopets!

I really feel for ya Coconut...my work blocked several sites too (FB, Twitter, Myspace, etc) that's when I started dedicating more time to Neopets and started AB'ing  so at least you have access to Neopets and NF! It's better than nothing (like poor Loco!)

haha yea.. poor poor loco :( :( It's torture sometimes. They've blocked everything except email (thank god!), search engine sites (msn, yahoo, etc), and for some unknown reason, NF XD . Everything else worth my time, Neopets, FB, even photo sites (which means most of the pics on a lot of websites are blocked) are out of my reach :nope:

I just hope that they don't catch on to it any time soon and block NF :p

That is truly unfortunate Loco!!! But yes, at least you still have NF to entertain you :) I don't even have access to email sites (Yahoo, Hotmail) Sigh...why is it that 'the man' doesn't trust us hahaha XD
