Just wanted to let everybody, that care, know that my laptop's HDD has crashed. So my activity will be somewhat limited until I can resolve this problem, or get a new laptop.

And if anybody knows how to fix a Media Test Failure, other than what is posted all over the internet, please, do tell!

Media test failure can be many things. If it is just the HDD for the laptop it is not real expensive to replace and if you have a desktop PC you can use you can buy an IDE to 2.5 HDD converter and attempt to back up your data and then put on new HDD. A new laptop is a lot harder to get than a new HDD. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to help. Just send me a PM. Im sure we could get you up and running fairly cheaply if not free just with what you have or have access to. I hate to see anyone have to be down from the internet because of something like that.

Don't worry we won't miss you :p j/k, but good luck getting your laptop ring again. It would seem the guy in th post ahead of me knows alot more about these kinda of problems than me. luckily you found him, hard to find good help these days.

    Thanks all.

It was the hard drive that died. I was able to recover some of the data on the hard drive before it completely died on me. I won't actually have my laptop back until Monday. I'm getting my 80Gb hard drive upgraded to a 100GB HDD and it's all going to cost me a cool $200...

    ...Awesome.
