Is there software that disables or limits a user to copy/clone a file x amount of times? Like any file extension...

Are you talking about security software that will not let you copy a certain file more than x number of times? If so, then its impossible.

    That's what I tought.
Altought I remember a long time ago, I had this 3 1/2 inch disc (yeah, old) for a game that was very special.
When installing the game, it would erase the disc. Upon uninstallation, it would recreate the files.
And this disc was facking impossible to copy. Trust me, I tried.
So if they were able to do this 15 years ago, there must be something that we can do.

Well theoretically its impossible. With typical CDs nowadays, its trivial to copy it even with copy protection and w/e.
Although having hardware components would make copying much much more difficult, in theory everything can be copied and distributed.

I'm sure if you worked for the tech division of the CIA/NSA you would be able to have access to something that can do that.

But I don't think it's possible to do anything like that nowadays.
