Huh? Neither is better than the other, this poll is retarded. They serve completely different functions. Desktops are better for gaming and do everything laptops do, but laptops are portable but do everything desktops do. Dumb question.

It's not really a dumb question. It was a big decision I had to make when going to school. Try to be a little more respectful...gosh.

It really is a dumb question, it's asking what's BETTER. Neither of them are better than the other. Desktops can do things laptops can't, and laptops can do things desktops can't. I hope you picked a laptop for school... (college that is) Should have been a pretty easy decision there.

Sorry I just noticed this.. better internet? What does that mean? WiFi? You can have WiFi on desktops too... and #1 is the only good reason you gave as to why you laptops would somehow be better.

Mind if I ask how old you are? I'm really just wondering.

I have both as well. I only really use my laptop for taking notes in class (I can type much faster than I can write, and I can use internet chat which helps me to type faster :))

Ah awesome, I'm also a freshman. If you're a fast typer, using your laptop in class really speeds up notes and allows you to take better ones.

    In a more detailed way

I like my computer because it has RAM. All the laptops ( 8) ) that I have at my house are old and silly. There is no reason why I need one. I like the desktop computer because it allows for easy modifications. This way if I want to upgrade certain components like my graphics card or my processor, I can just open up the tower and put it in rather than buy a whole new laptop.

Hmm? Because it has RAM? What exactly does that mean? Are you saying laptops don't have RAM? Well I guess we can be technical and say they use DIMM but still, it's basically RAM.

As you get older <chuckle> you value your eyes and i have yet to find a laptop that I can move around my multiple desktop/monitors as fast (without a mouse)... not to mention having multiple DVD's, graphics cards etc.

As using computers is the way I make a living... Desktops rule! Laptops would just be another leash that keeps me tied to my office.

I like desktops more, but laptops are ok for the mobility just I find you have more space and freedom with downloads and customability with desktops.

Yeah, that's the one thing I really enjoy about desktops. For music alone, I use about 45gb. For movies and games, add another 70gb. For fights, add another 20gb. All these things plus applications etc. would never fit on my lone 120gb in my lappy. Having three huge HDDs on my desktop is a big plus. But, like I said, laptops have their benefits as well.

lolcool22 I am 13. Yes, I have my own laptop. I worked at A&W for a while to earn my laptop

Ya, but I have to pay for the internet on my labtop, and I buy the better stuff for my laptop. My Desktop's internet is paid for by the 'rents, and Its not as good as my labtops
