Do you read other people's posts?

After seeing much of the posts on most boards, I came to the conclusion that when people go to a board, they read the starters post, and then they post.

They don't read anyone else's posts before they post.

This is why almost all boards have people saying the same thing, over and over and over. Or people asking the same question, over and over and over.

So, please participate in this poll. I want to see how often you read other people's posts.

i read the post 90%..at a time.
and it depends on the thread.

 

usually I do, unless the topic is like 30 pages long, then I usually just read the last page before posting. chumpchange.

 

I only read the initial post and maybe the last 2 or 3 posts. I try not to read the other posts because I'm answering the thread maker not other posters but sometimes I do get curious as to what others are saying.

 

:lol: I think I have noticed that you don't always read posts before posting and seeing as you didn't post the magic word...

Sometimes I think perhaps newer members have read the posts in a thread, but want to post (for the usual, obvious reasons) and so end up repeating others if they have nothing else to add. Eventually MOST seem to learn that if they don't have anything to say, they shouldn't post, but there will always be some :roll:

And I can't say always, but I'd say 90% of the time. I sometimes can't get on for a few days/a week or so and then when I come on, there may be a topic with 20 pages of posts, many of which are usually absolute junk so I do then tend to skip the short, spammy looking posts and just read the more substantial ones

Well at least that last post proved that you read posts because you quoted that other persons post!

 

I can't say that I read always either but I might say that 90% of the times I read...Like xxx___ said if a topic has hundreds of pages I normally read the only first 2 pages and then I post...But I normally feel kind stupid when I say the same thing that other people said previously so the best thing is to read first
Also,not reading other people post is sort of unrespectful since the whole point of boards is to people discuss and give new points of view and not only to post the same thing on and on to win points...

I read them all I spend most of my time on boards like debate so you kinda have to I read all the posts on spam topics as well though xD. chumpchange.

I voted 50% of the time, I usually don't have that much time on my hands to read every single post in a 3 page thread.

 

I read always the posts...... But i dont understand xD, but i read always =P

 

I always read everyone's post on the thread I'm posting on so I know what's going.

 

I don't exactly know.
It's like fendi and xxx__ said, when it's a huge topic that I didn't keep up since the beggining, I usually don't bother reading it all and most of times don't post.
As for the small ones, I usually read them but sometimes I start reading someone's post and only read the first line then skip to the next one

I usually read them all, if the topic has a question and everyone answers with their own opnion then sometimes there is a dialouge between two people running through the post, I don't generally tend to read that just post my own thoughts!
