Ok, Well I just recently heard that Futurama would be returning :yup: but, they have to have a new cast because Comedy Central can't afford the orginal cast. What i'm saying is that do you think that it will ruin the show and do you know of any examples

mmm, I dunno when the voice-actor for chef left from south park they killed him off though maybe there could be some legal things I haven't considered. I doubt it would be the same, the voice is the heart and soul of the character. It'd be like someone looking exactly like your mum but having a different character (ie. being a stranger to you) a bit of an extreme example but in animation the human element we use to maintain suspension of disbelief is the voice and in some cases the art work. But futurama ain't about the art :p

My vote is it won't work out

I think it will ruin the show.
Especially for people who got used to the previous voices of the show.

It is not how the voice sounds but the way they do it... If they come in and give effort into the character it will be noticed and it may make the character even better... Especially for characters you don't like much.

Well a lot of people can do imitation voices (ie. daffy duck, the griffin family, the simpsons, etc.) so i' thinking that they'll get people who can mimic the voices of the past crew.
You can't copyright your voice, right?

I think it will. Because you get so accustomed to hearing someone's voice for a certain character, and then it changes. I hated it whenever they did that because it changes the whole character.

    I think so, personally. I wouldn't watch any of the new episodes if the voices were different, because then it's not really anything like the old one that we watched and loved, right? ;P And what if the voice actors are really, really bad? ;o;

Hmm, I guess it will. I'd give the show a chance, but if the voices are really different...well that show is going down the drain.

nope it may seem ruined at first but look at the simpsons had changes and now some of the older shows seem odd because I like the "newer" voices much better now. Its like when tv series have actor changes (mainly soaps) sucks at first but after a while things will feel normal again

It certainly will. Many shows have audiences who are already accustomed, and like, what they were previously offered. Which is the reason why they keep coming back. So, voice-changes wouldn't particularly agree with them.

i dont think it ruins the show, it just takes some adjusting to the new voices sound compared to the old ones where it seems like the "norm".

and i watched futurama, at first i thought it sounded odd. but i got used to it after a few episodes.

so no, new voices doesn't ruin a show for me. ;p

Sounds like the original cast is back for the new season!
Crimson, how could you get used to something that hadn't been changed yet?

I don't think it will, sure it'll take a while to get used to, but then you'll grow accustomed to the new voices.
(Rofl, that sounded funny to me)

This kind of reminds me of when they replace a person on a tv show but try to play it off as the same person.
Remember The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when they replaced the mother?
Totally took me by surprise but I learned to just ignore it because the show was extremely funny to me.

    Edit:

Lol, well I guess no one has to get used to new voices since the original cast have agreed to keep on voicing the characters. ;)

It's always annoying at first, but you get used to it.

It's even worse when they instate awful voice actors in the first place. (see: Anime Dubs, yuck!)

I'd rather they just not bring it back than bring it back with different voices. I just don't think it would be funny with different people. The only way it would *maybe* works is if they got people who could do those voices (like imitate them)

For me, it's kinda like when someone gets a drastic hair cut. At first, it doesn't look good at all, but that's because it doesn't look like them. But then I get used to it and I end up either liking it or not caring. :p
