So, I know this is a great program to check for active proxies, but my question is: is it safe to use it to change your proxy instead of doing the whole process of changing your configurations?
I think it's safe -> I have a program called proxy switcher standard which searches and allows you to connect to open proxy networks quickly.. never had a problem with it and it changes my ip everytime
For me on firefox/chrome there is an option for proxies and it doesn't take that much time just like 10 seconds to input the proxy and port. You can uncheck if you don't need it which will allow you to surf regularly.
Never used that one... maybe I'll give it a try! Thanks! Yeah, but I'm really that lazy :arf: No, it's just that I use different proxies for several accounts, so it's really annoying to change it everytime...
I'm paranoid about using shared proxies though because what if someone else is using the same proxy to play Neopets?
I know, but I use different proxies for different shells... at least for the attic ones... I guess I'll try using it to do some heavy SS on some new shells and see how it works out... with my neighbour's wireless, just to be extra safe...
just so you people know there is a much much easier way to change your ip. start>run>cmd ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew or if you have dsl just restart your modem if your not in static ip mode(easy way to check is http://192.168.1.1 this connects you to your router, youll have to google what your default login is for your router type. then go to the little advanced tab and make sure your on dynamic. also make sure you have a good dchp list such as it doesnt go like 2 number. give it a gap of like 50-100.) thats how to chance your ip. also if none of these work and you use a ethernet card internally in your computer you can just change your mac address. if assistance is needed feel free to contact me.
those arent really all that effective, its private proxies you gotta watch out for i.e if i turn my ip intoa proxy and turn on a little port sniffer while your connected to my proxy i have all your info. publics are a little too big to do that and i highly doubt someone hosting a public proxy wants neopoints.
If you google some game forums instead, you'll find very nice free proxy sites there :yup: But I find it less risky to pay for one... you can see I'm totally paranoid, right?
they are all kinda the same, the best thing to do is change your ip. proxies dont usually accept https requests and they become a hassle.
what type of connection do you use? id be more than happy to walk you through the process. ive yet to have a computer or isp stop me from changin my ip.
