If you already don't know what emulators are . . . "A video game console emulator is a program that allows a computer or modern console (cross-console emulation) to emulate a different video game console's behavior. Emulators are most often used to play older video games on personal computers and modern video game consoles, but they are also used to play games translated into other languages or modify (or hack) existing games. Emulators are also a useful tool in the development process of homebrewed demos and new games for older systems." - Wikipedia There are many different types of emulators over the web, and tons of roms (Roms is the name of the games you play on the emulator). I remember looking everywhere for a good nes emulator and nes roms. I played too much SSBB and wanted to get back to the roots.
i thought posting these were against the rules or something. i could be wrong tho maybe its just smc files
As far as I know, Xeon (the xbox emu) is not working. It only play partially halo. Dolphin is suppose to be on the same boat. Have you tried any of them ??? Did you actually played with them ??? Were they game playable ??? (more than 20 FPS) BTW, you're missing PCSX, witch is a working PS1 emu. Played Gran Turismo with it for quite a long time. There's PCSX2 now for the PS2 and there's quite some game totally playable with ~25 FPS. There's even an entire thread on the official site stating witch game works and witch one doesn't with the PC specs peoples used to try the game. For the nintendo part, you could add JNES. Totally working, window mode or fullscreen For the SNES, there's snes9x. Finally, you're missing the Atari2600 emu: Stella It's not too user friendly but it work. Finally2: if you need some atari, nes, snes or N64 games that you can't find on the net, lemme know. I've got so much of them it's crazy. (~500 nes roms, 797 snes roms, 2549 atari roms and 31 N64 roms.) If you need more information, lemme know too, cause like you can see, I'm quite aware of what's going on in the emu world.
Only didn't try like two, xeon was one of them. Dolphin works fine with some games, but you have to have like a good computer. Tried downloading PCSX twice from different sources but the games don't work on it? jNes is there. Will be adding the atarti one later. Thanks
You'll need to download roms. Here's a nice site to download some gba ones : http://romhustler.net/roms/gba
@rider: to get run the PCSX one, you need the a PS1 BIOS. This will tell you if the console is from JAPAN/EURO/NA You can either dump the one from your PS1 (too hard) or download them from the net. Google "PCSX bios" and you should find them. Also, you need different plugin to run them. Since this emu is quite demanding, you had the choice to run 3rd party plugin with more advanced function. You'll need directx video plugin compatible and a CD/DVD plugin too if you run the game from your cd/dvd drive. I think the one include only support virtual drive (Iso, Bin/Cue)
There are NES emulators... I remember I used to play it during school all the time... Although that was a while ago.
ePSXE is also a great playstation emulator. You can find information for it on http://www.epsxe.com/. There are also a ton of playstation roms on www.romhustler.net.
