Hey! Does anyone know of a good website to share free ePub books? I have a Nook and I haven't been able to find a good website (haven't looked very hard either XD) to upload/download ePub files. Thanks in advance for any advice! (oh, and I wasn't sure where to put this so if it goes better under a different topic feel free to move it :tux
In order of success (in my experience): demonoid.me, library.nu, torrentz.com There are others, too, but chances are you'll find whatever you're looking for on the first two. Demonoid.me limits the amount of guest downloads per week, so you'll have to register. The only downside is that registration is often closed, but if check early in the morning or late at night, you may get lucky. Anyway, it's quite possible you might not even reach your weekly cap. I think it's 15 or so. Library.nu has pretty much every book under the sun, but you MUST register in order to see them. If you try to search as a guest, it won't show you everything. Registration is always open. Torrentz.com has a search feature that pulls from a bunch of different torrent sites, and you can also narrow your search to just show books I think. I would use this as a last resort because not every torrent is safe or verified. They do show the results in order of trustworthiness, though. You can lower your threshold to include possible sketchy things, or you can up your threshold to exclude everything but verified torrents. You'll need a torrent client for both Demonoid and Torrentz, but Library.nu gives you the file directly. You will also need Calibre. Actually, regardless of whether you use any of these sites or not, you should use Calibre. It's awesome. Calibre will convert any ebook into a format that's compatible with your reader, and it also pulls search results from all the ebook stores at once to get you the best deal. But the coolest thing about it is that it can basically make any ebook look legit and store-bought: Once you drag/drop or import an epub file into Calibre, just select it and hit 'E,' which will open an editing panel. Simply grab the ISBN of the book from Amazon or wherever else and paste that into the designated box. Click 'download metablahblah,' and it'll load all the necessary information like the cover, publisher, dates, etc. HTH
