I have a topic....Is it in human nature to care (for others) So far I have an intro paragraph i needed 3 more paragraphs does anyone have any ideas they could post??? You can also just post your opinion on whether or not it is in human nature to care for others but please back it up with descriptive facts(explain why you said yes or no) I would really appreciate this!!!
Well..... According to John Locke, humans in the state of nature have perfect freedom to order their actions according to the laws of nature, without having to ask permission to act from any other person. People are of equal value, and treat each other as they would want to be treated. People only leave the state of nature when they consent to take part in a community.
WOW...well im in 8th grade so thanx for helpin but could you put that in simpler words...i understand what u r sayin (even though i dont know who John Locke is) but i cant put that in my own words!!!
Lol I am a junior, John Locke was one of the best English philosophers, you will learn a lot about him in high school. It's saying we have the freedom to do whatever we want but it is morally right for us to care, it's kinda saying that we do it because we are responsible in a way. We care about people because we want to be cared about in return. Does that make any sense?
John Locke also came up with Tabula Rasa (Blank Slate)...the epistemological thesis that individual human beings are born with no innate or built-in mental content, in a word, "blank", and that their entire resource of knowledge is built up gradually from their experiences and sensory perceptions of the outside world...so humans are shaped by how they are treated and such...
yeah it did...but i cant just write a whole essayabout one thing....i mean it is a great help and im not askin for anything else from you but i need more views....but i will add that to my essay..i promise
well john locke has lots of stuff about human behavior...why not goggle it...and other human psychology stuff....
Hobbes, who has the polar opposite view on human nature (and politics), and who is studied at the same time as Locke in many cases, said that humans are naturally flawed, corrupt, and overall terrible. There is no way to avoid this. The only way for society to function is for everyone to pour all of their faith into an absolute ruler who takes away all of their rights in return for protection.
I really appreciate this...but i would your views about the topic...i dont really caree for John Locke and Hobbes...i kida was looking for answers like No, every person has their own choice of whether or not to be concern. Yes, because...i dont know how to answer this one..cuz my topic is more swaying toward No....
Thanx...everyone...in a little while i may type my intro paragraph here so people can read it over and hopefully help me out...my teacher DID correct it and he killed it!!! So many marked i felt like setting it on fire but mostly because of sentence formation...everything just sounded awkward which i really need help...i need to write my ideas clearly.
I might be able to help you out with that if you still need it... you don't get 96% on your English report for nothing
I have a topic....Is it in human nature to care (for others) I think its human nature to care for others, if not for their good, but for your own Theres alot of ways of looking at how people behave, but in the end it always goes back to yourself. Theres three philosophies of some kind with names i cant remember, but anyways... the first is how were all selfish, and do everything for out own good. The second is how we only do everything for other peopls benefit, but in the end that benefits you because you feel good about yourself. The last one is one of those philosophies where you treat everything how you would like to be treated.. the name was universal something, and i guess that kinda ties in with the second one... I think all humans want to make themselves feel good, and by caring for others, they make themselves feel better, in a strange indirect way
