I haven't run this poll in almost 11 months, or so, and we've gotten a new crowd since then, yet my passion for the series is still running strong. (Still playing FFVII right now! haha.) With FFXIII coming out (relatively) soon, SquareEnix has my blood pumping. Now, in this poll, I am abandoning the US version of the names, and going with the pure names (because that's just how it should be done.) So, to explain for those who don't know the number switch ups, here they are (Before you vote!) FFI is FFI in both USA and Japan FFII was never released in US FFIII was never released in US FFIV was released as FFII in US FFV was never released in US FFVI was released as the epic FFIII in US and was the last to mess with the numbering. FFVII FFVIII FFIX FFX FFX-2 FFXI FFXII Now, in my poll there will only be the US released games, considering neofriends doesn't have much of a japanese base. So, start the vote! By the way, feel free to post an explanation of why a certain game is your favorite.
(this does not count as a double post; i'm posting my explanation to my vote.) So, I chose FFVI (III US) because it was Squaresoft's last hurrah on that ever-addictive 16-bit SNES system. The characters had depth, the stories were amazing, and they all did it with 26 pixels in size. From Locke freaking out at being called a theif, to Celes saving the party by sacrificing her freedom, to the espers giving up their lives to assist the party take down (what has to be video gamings best villain of all time) Kefka. Final Fantasy III simply told the story like no other could (and none have since.) Following FFIII, my vote for 2nd best would have been FFXI, the online game. A lot of hardcore FF fans scoff at even having a # on FFXI because of the mmo aspect, but I disagree. If you play it long enough, you see that it's a true sequel in the FF fashion. Indeed. the Current FF game that has held my attention longest has doubtless been Final Fantasy XI. Yes, it's online. Yes, the story doesn't really come out unless you take time to do it, but After seeing three of the game's five stories so far, I'm still hooked like nobody's business.
Hmm, this is actually quite difficult to decide on. I haven't played all the games, I have completed FFI, FFII, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX and FFX-2. Each of the games had something really good about them. I loved the card game in VIII and the story was pretty good. But I really enjoyed X-2 because it was just female characters and I reckon there are not enough games that just have female characters only. It was fairly simple though and it could have been made a lot more difficult. I like the one with Red (I think that's the original name, looks like a dog/wolf and is in some sort of experiment). FFIX felt very cartoony to me, and I think that put me off a bit as well. But I did enjoy once I had gotten into it a bit. I did think about trying XI, but it really put me off being an online game. And I haven't played XII yet, but it is sitting in my games cupboard waiting for me to play it. So, overall I think X-2 is my favourite, but would have preferred it to be more difficult.
well i say my top 3 are ff7 ff8 and ff6 as you can see by my name im a huge fan i have played most of the games and there all pretty cool.
I'd say FF8, i played every FF, except 11. The depth and romance and what not where absolutly the best there as secondi woud say FF3 ( of FF6, who knows, atleast the last 2d FF ) Worst is final fantasy 12, for sure, they just completly ruined it , t'will be a huge shame if they dump the old battle system and stay with the new one..
Final Fantasy X for the win. I can't understand why FF7 is so overrated, it's not even that good, but maybe thats just me. I hate games with dodgy graphics. I loved FFX, Replayed it 3 times over :tehe:
7, IMO, was top of the block just because it had a downright awesome villain. I don't know what it is but Sephiroth just has something...cool about him.
FF7 is my favourite game in the whole world. I remember when my little brother and I got it when I was about 10 and he was about 6. We sat and played it together almost constantly. And we still do. Every so often we decide we should play it again and start it all over again with a rule whereby one person cant play unless the other is there. We end up sitting up til 4 and 5 in the morning once we get started. I can't even say what it is about the game.. Maybe it's just because I loved it so much when I was younger, but I really love it. In fact, one of my hamsters is named Sephiroth and one of my kittens is called Yuffie ^_^ I love the soundtrack on it too
