Okay, I'm using Firefox. And until today I could using the wheel on my mouse (by clicking it down), click a link and it would open in a new tab.

ALL OF A SUDDEN IT ISN'T WORKING!

If you understand me, and know how I can make it work again.

    +Rep to you!

Do you have another wheel mouse laying around?

if you do, i would try using that to see if it works... if it DOESN'T, then try downloading Chrome, and test both of the mice (lol) in Chrome (Cos it has the same feature)..

if it doesn't work, then you probably concluded that it has something to do with the mouse drivers/OS.

if it DOES work in chrome, its something to do with Firefox =)

hope this helps... even if you don't have another mouse, try it in Chrome and it gives you another test =).

I am not saying to switch to Chrome..... Cos I am a Firefox fan.. just saying its an easy way to test it =P

Hrrrm well it didn't work in Google Chrome (BTW.. not a fan from the 20seconds I used it :p)

Then I tried clicking and holding and apparently that works.. Just appears that a simple click no longer is enough, I've got to hold that click for a second or two before it will open a new tab.

If this is settings based, please let me know so I can adjust it.

I'm waiting to the end to decide who deserves my +rep ;) (note, multiple persons may receive it, depending on answers)

gah i dislike Chrome too =.=

I have no issue with firefox and the wheel button opening instantly..
I only ever experience problems if my computer is a little laggy or something... Do you have a lot of programs running?

if so, close firefox, and every other program (Including their process'.. go to the task manager. shortcut is right ctrl+shift+esc).

after that, re-open firefox, and then test it again...

It's possible that your mouse could be a little dodgey as well... I use a wireless mouse that cost me like.. $20... and i sure know i get some issues with it when its low battery and a few other times...

Check your batteries if its a cordless mouse as well....

so many things that could go wrong D:

If you have installed anything recently (Like any Add-Ons) they could possibly be causing an issue as well.

Okay I'm not quite sure what I did... I just fiddled with a setting under Tab Mix Plus Options, middle button, on a tab changed to close tab. I changed it to open a tab and its back to normal.

no idea why the initial change.

Came around after reading something that you linked to Thar! (i was too lazy to even think about googling it :p)

Kaden > I should neg rep you for making me download chrome ;) XD (dont worry.. I won't!)

EDIT: Oh and I've done nothing different recently except fiddle with the firefox personas.. but it was working fine until.. well.. until i posted this thread :p Fixed now though :)
