From my perspective it looks like Tux has destroyed anything and he's trying to get out (that's what the pic is telling me). I'm not saying it's made badly but the pixel thingy effects kinda look like viruses. Anyway, good job -->
Well. I'm not too fond of it really... I like the penguin, but there's just too much colors IMO. Too much going on. But maybe it's just what I like to see coloring my opinion. But I'm still amazed at the fact that it was made on GIMP. ;3
Haha, yeah, I went a little filter happy I was trying to make something "different" since most images people make a bit monotone and lack color depth. I guess I went a bit too far And why are you amazed that it was made in GIMP? GIMP is more advanced than Photoshop
A very fair and unbiased comparison: http://grimthing.com/archives/2007/01/1 ... Photoshop/ A lot of the points that the author made in that article have been patched in more recent releases of The GIMP. Also, since GIMP is community developed, it has loads of plug-ins to patch up the little things that the main program leaves behind. I'm not going to write a whole post about the features GIMP has that are superior to Photoshops', but I'll tell you now that there are a lot. note: Windows users hate GIMP primarily because of the UI and the large number of Windows GIMP spawns. Linux users just laugh at them
Here's my take on it: Gimp can do everything photoshop can ...with ten times the effort and ten times less the ease.
Cool DBZ Tux. Maybe if you spread some red to the bottom right corner to even out the left side, the image might look a bit better and no so contrasy as it is now. And maybe a few of those blue pixels into the top red zone.
woah dude i have gimp 2 and i play around with it a lot and i make some pretty good things...but this is good...9/10...il post some of mine l8r when i find them...
I've actually read that article before, a long time ago. I'm happy with photoshop, so I don't see the point in downloading GIMP, but each to their own I suppose.
By using The GIMP, you are openly (haha, pun) showing your support for software libre. By using Photoshop, you are either directly (if you paid) or indirectly (torrenting) Photoshop and the evil proprietary software companies.
HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! HATE!!! Just kidding, it's really good, especially since it was freeware. ;D
