Ok so while doing some shopping for dinner I came across a cucumber and decided to buy it (going through a health phase) While trying to tell a friend what vegetables and fruits I bought I couln't quite call a cucumber a vegetable nor a fruit same with tomatoes so..... Cucumber Vegi or Fruit? Tomatoe Vegi ot Fruit? I really do wan't to know what each is and really don't know what to call either.
Tomatoes and cucumbers are both fruits (both my personal opinion and from the scientific definition) Basically, here's my way of describing a fruit: If it can taste sweet and sour (depending on the quality), then its a fruit. Scientifically: "True fruits are developed from the ovary in the base of the flower, and contain the seeds of the plant" Honestly, it doesn't really matter if all you are worrying about is health. Just eat clean, home-made food and you'll be alright. Sure, you may not be as "healthy" as health-freaks, but you'll live a fuller life if you eat good, whole-some food.
He not worring about eating healthy just in a mood in 2 days I could be in a chocolate mode where most i want to eat is chocolate (pregnancy messes with my appitite)
I agree with them being fruits. I was just eating some cherry tomatoes earlier in a salad and they were so good, why do you have to make me crave them some more! Haha thanks for at least getting me to go eat something healthy for dinner =p *runs off to eat another salad*
haha talk about contagious, wow this keeps up all who reads this will start eating more healthy if they don't already. So most people feel the same I guess that these are fruits, prepared and tastes like vegi's.
ew. well, i've never liked cucumbers or vinegar, so that might explain it what's the difference between a cucumber and a pickle?
They're both fruits, just eaten as vegetables...not that it matters much. All that matters is they're both amazing in salads.
So true =D I remember having this debate in grade school lol. I wasn't right back then, but from then on out I knew =P Cucumbers and Tomatoes = Fruits and are delicious! ~Parisdirt
