I'm looking for some good movies, preferably PG-13. Can you all suggest like one movie plus like a little "taste" of the movie? So the movie and a little paragraph thing to add onto it.

I'm looking for something along the lines of:

    Genre: Adventure/Fantasy
    Rating: G, PG, PG-13, R (some), [strike]NC-17[/strike]
    Length: ----
    Favorite Movie: Transformers

These are just guidelines because I'm open to any kind of movie.

    EDIT: TV shows too?

If you are looking for comedy movies, I suggest White Chicks (although it has bad ratings, I still think it is hilarious) :)

If you want to watch something a little different you should watch Slumdog Millionaire. This film really surprised me.it was very well done. ... also deathrace is a pretty good movie.

Do you have some summaries or just a little quick "glimpse" of the movie because I don't want to start on a movie that I :(.

    Thanks...:D

The movie Taken was amazing. It is about a retired spy whos daughter is in paris when she and her friend are taken by smugglers who sell women as slaves. So the rest of the movie is him getting her back

Most good fantasy adventure movies (imo) came out before I was even born. At least this probably means that you haven't seen them. :) My list is in chronological order, and I've stuck in a couple that aren't exactly fantasy and adventure but that are still very good.

Fantasia - 1940, G - yeah, yeah, it's Disney. And it's older than my parents. But it's totally awesome. There are so many references to this film even today that it must be worth something, and the sound track is incredible.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - 1969, PG - Bank and train robbers. Wild, wild West. EPIC movie.
The Dark Crystal - 1982, G - a fanstastic film done with Muppets (though not the famous ones), where they go on an adventure to find a shard of Crystal to restore the planet.
Krull - 1983, G - an invasion of evil things, a kidnapped princess... yeah, the effects aren't the greatest, but it's totally classic.
The Never Ending Story - 1984, PG - okay, this was totally one of the staples of my childhood. A boy disappears into the pages of a book, into a world that needs his help. Atreyu <3
Ghost Busters - 1984, PG - who you gonna call? Ghost Busters! (watch the original, it's totally worth it)
Labyrinth - 1986, G - a girl wishes away her little brother and must go on a journey to get him back. David Bowie is really, really phenominal in this film.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - 1991, PG 13 - It's Robin Hood. Common!
    Princess of Thieves - 2001, G - It's Robin Hood's daughter. =D
Pan's Labyrinth - 2006, PG 13 - okay, you caught me. I just have a thing for labyrinths. Anyway, it's the story of a young girl who escapes into a fantasy world. It's in spanish with subtitles, so if that bugs you...
Slumdog Millionaire - 2008, R - I've stuck this in here because it really was a phenominal movie. A teen from the slums of India appears on their equivalent to "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" and is accused of cheating. His past is explored, revealing why he knows the answers to the questions.
Coraline - 2009, PG - it sickens me that they've cast Fanning as Coraline, but it's a delightful movies all the same. Based on a (very, very good) novel, this is the story of a young girl who discovers an alternate universe on the other side of a secret door.

Hmm...I might post later with some more. I hope that you don't mind watching old movies... some of the best movies out there don't have the greatest effects. The shoddy quality is totally worth it, though, 100%.
    Good luck!

I just rented Lakeview Terrance and Pride and Glory.

Lakeview was kinda stupid~...but it was entertaining, and if you like Samuel L. Jackson it'd be good movie to watch. It's about a racist cop (Jackson) that tries to make his new neighbors life hell...they're a black/white couple.

Pride and Glory I thought was pretty good, has Edward Norton in it :)....This movies about two brothers who are cops, and one is corrupt and one is good.

And the last movie that I saw in theaters was Defiance...really good if you have the money/time to go out to a movie!

Heroes and Lost both suck...as does most TV these days...even House is starting to blow chunks

Lost had one good season, it's first one...apparently the creators didn't expect it to actually be picked up for multiple seasons (ZOMG POLAR BEAR, ZOMG LOCUST/DEATH CLOUD/WTF)

I dislike Heroes all-together, but a lot of people enjoyed the first season as well, but it's been downhill from there. It got torn to shreds by the writer's strike

Family Guy is still occassionally interesting, although not nearly as great as it used to be

South Park gives a decent effort every time

Jeopardy! is always a good watch :)

Other than that, just watch sports...you won't regret it

    Haha, I'm watching Heroes season1 right now! I think it's pretty good :) I'm really really curious as to how Nikki/Jessica escape from prison. I'm only on episode 10 n__n;

    But yeah, Taken was good!
Not the best action movie out there, but good :)

My favorite all time movie though is "Life is Beautiful"
it's an Italian movie about a Jewish family during the Holocaust,
but omg. In the beginning you're squealing because of how cute/funny it is,
and then at the end, you're bawling.

It's so so so SO good.

Life is Beautiful was a great movie

Another set of good movies are the Monty Python movies: Life of Brian, Meaning of Life, Holy Grail
