I was walking along with my brother one day when my nephew approached me with a list of the American Presidents in order. As I looked at this list, I mentioned to my nephew, that of the first five American Presidents, (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison and Monroe) three of them died on July 4th, America's Independence Day. My nephew looked at the list and stated, "I bet one of them was Monroe!"
I was quite suprised at how my nephew, who for the sake of this question is a Spanish immigrant with no background history of the United States, thus not knowing anything to do with how or when Monroe died. How could my nephew be so sure?

Shadow flipped the tent flap open and surveyed the scene. In the center of the tent lay a man with self inflicted gun wounds to the head. Int he corner was a small cot. A packets of cigarettes and a bottle of whisky stood on a bedside table along a kerosene lamp. Shadow then combed the tent for additional clues to a possible motive. Other then the items already mentioned, the only things Shadow found were a half dozen small circular wooden pieces under the cot, the man's personal effects, and a variety of scrapbooks containing news clippings. Shadow found the last items particularly strange since it was learned that the suicide victim was illiterate.
What was the reason for the suicide?

2. The lord was a hemopheliac. That is a genetic trait, so the son was too. A hemopheliac is someone who if you cut, the blood won't stop flowing. The son didn't want to get a blood test because he knew he'd die.

5. The son's father. The question says a man and a son, maybe the man is not the son's father? The man later got off, and the son (not of the man) got off. For answering sake, I assume that the son's father got onto the ship with him, so the son's father got off with the son too

I honestly don't have any answers but I would like it if, after you figure all of these out, you explain them. I love riddles like these. Wish the net would have smarter ones like these, rather than the dumb ones.
