Since I was too lazy to move my mouse over to the google search bar, I just typed into the URL bar "matt and kim daylight" and it took me straight to the youtube video. I tried it again with "say anything walk through hell" and once again, straight to the youtube video. Is this just been added in 3.5 or what? Sorry if I'm too easily amused, but this is like the greatest thing since like... tabs.

Okay, now I'm just pushing my luck. I'm abusing this power. ;__; I typed in "solo impala" and sure enough, "Youtube - The Fashion - Solo Impala (Take The Money And Run)".

I'm pretty sure it gives you the most popular google result, as long as the result is first by A LOT.

Typing "Neofriends" for me yields neofriends.net home page (yay!)

However, I tried "CBC" (Looking for the site of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) the other day on my friend's computer, it took us to some Chinese flash gaming site. Maybe they sponsored their result or something.

    It's hit and miss.

Like Hally said, I think it has always done this if the first result is far more popular than the rest.

But if you want to do a youtube search every time from your url bar, look at a guide in my sig called firefox keyword bookmarks or something like that lol.

Basically you can type "yt numa numa" and it will take you to a youtube search result.

Yeah, typing in neofriends end up redirecting you here. And I may end up using your FF shortcut guide in the end. xD

I guess I never really bothered typing anything in my url bar other than urls so this just amazes me. :|

There is somewhere where you can set google as your default search engine. Not just in the search engine bar, but in your URL bar, too. I'll try and find it for you.

EDIT: Yeah, sorry. Can't find it. :( My laptop at home does the same thing, but with ask.com. ;__; ask is so lame.

    File not found
Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/Mozilla Firefox/chrome/en-GB.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.propertiesneofriends.

    * Check the file name for capitalisation or other typing errors.

    * Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.

Mine use to work now I get that. Anyone any idea how to change it?

When in doubt, uninstall then reinstall? Just back up your bookmarks and and save application settings.

    Yes firefox actually does that.
It's a cool thing for lazy people like me.
Firefox comes with lots of addons that allow me to update facebook, twitter, delicious and many other things at one time.
    Excellent.

I haven't thought about doing anything like that... I may have to start using it for sites that I know will work. So it seems like its a hit or a miss though.

If you're going to use this for sites, you may as well put in the effort to add ".com" to it. If it's a site, Google normally takes about five seconds to redirect you to it. By typing in "neofriends" you wait five seconds, by adding ".net", you wait less than a second. I only use it as a search engine, finding music videos and such.

Yeah, but default search engine is Google or sometimes I use Bing. This "feature" of FF was developed to match Google Chrome's "search google" in the URL bar...

Chromium, Chrome, Firefox, SRWare and other Google Chromium open-source-based browsers as far as I know.

I'm sure that Microsoft's Internet Explorer will probably implant one for their new search engine Bing though. :)

Firefox has ALWAYS had the feature.

I use FF1.5 and it has it.
