...but there's more to it than that! I bought one of the first models of the apple iMac. You know, the teal and blown-glass looking one. I was told this computer would run Marathon and Marathon: Infinity. That's the only reason I bought it. I purchased the computer used off Craigslist and brought it home. I had put the Aleph one remakes onto a CD, popped it in, and installed. Boy howdy, I got that far! ...but when I tried to actually play the games, the sound was corrupted in places and the game moved slower than a pixel a minute. Normally I can put up with lag, but this was literally impossible to work with. Luckily, I only spent 35 dollars on the computer itself. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is giving me problems/what I can do? I can set up the computer again ((it's in the basement)) to see if it gives me any errors if necessary. I'm 99% sure it didn't, but I might have overlooked something. :B
Did you try running other similar games on that computer!! Maybe your sound card and video card are not sufficient to run this game(but it was released about a decade ago so i dont think it is the problem).. If you can post specs of your computer it would be better!! Did you try reducing display settings!!
To everyone: It's a used, ORIGINAL imac. I was told by numerous people this computer would run it, regardless of it being old/used/35$ whatever. I ONLY bought it for these games that I mentioned. :/ I'll run downstairs later today and try to grab the specs... I HATE macs with a passion but really want to play these games XD I'll see if I can figure it out.
You mean one of these ones, don't you? I hate Macs with a passion, too, but that doesn't really help solve your problem If the game was designed to run properly on that Mac, there should really be no problem with it - if that problem exists now, it will have 10+ years ago when the game was first used, and the internet was still a toddler. Possibly try yahoo questions, or see if you can find a computer forum related to this kind of thing. Either that or go to Bungie.net and see if they can help you.
Your problem definitely isn't the game. The problem is because you bought an ancient computer for 35$. When people say a game needs to meet the "minimum requirement" to process a game, they don't mean properly. They mean process it like that game is running for you. If you want to run the game WELL, you'll have to upgrade. That's really all there is to it... Try and get your money back?
