I'm looking at buying a new HD PVR, one that will also allow me to record my PS3 Gameplay.

But in order for the missus to not kill me for spending money, It has to be able to record my TV programs as well (preferably more than one Chanel at a time but one is fine).

I was looking at the Hauppauge ones... I'd need something that will plug into AUSTRALIAN power sockets though.

    Power cord ?
I wasn't aware that hauppage was making external PVR

I've been using an internal one.
It's my 2nd hauppage WinTv PVR and it's working perfectly fine with Media Center.
The only bug I had was when I switched from 2GB ram to 4GB ram, the pvr stop working.
Some older PVR use 32bits drivers and thus can't work with more than 3.25 GB or ram.

I'm wondering if you'll find a video editing program able to work with H264.

There are programs that work with it...

    And yea power cord.

You know, you plug it into a powerpoint with.

We have different fittings in Australia, and a completely different power output :p

Thats the only problem when buying stuff like this online... It's cheaper overseas, but is not always compatible. You can get some adapters, but it depends on the origial one whether or not the power difference will work..

    Nevermind the "power cord ?"
I rewrite my posts entirely but forgot to remove that line.

Like I said, I wasn't aware they were making external PVR so in my head, there was no need for the power cord if it was an internal one.

Yea I know.. However, 720p and 1080i it DOES support. Both of which are HD, just not the best HD. I'll just need to get the HD Component Cables for my PS3. (an extra $20!)

I know, I had to downsize from 1080p to 720p. It wasn't too bad. With 720p you can record at 60fps and 1080i only 30fps

    Edit: 2000th post :D

Heh.. Thats okay. I just gotta get myself a 5 component cable set instead of the 3 :p

Which I've ordered. Now waiting for my sale on here to go through, and I should have enough for my PVR :D

Then I gotta get a power plug adapter to aussie sockets.
