Just got into Judo varsity in my high school and I wanted to master maybe 2-3 signature throws. I'm working on my Osoto Gari right now, but everyone else on the team loves that move so everyone is watching out for it and has pretty much figured out how to stop/counter it. Anyone know how I can get the Harai or Ogosh down pat? I'm having a hard time executing it. I've watched a couple Judo DVDs, but they're not really in-depth with the moves.
I did Judo classes for a while before I started at Leben's school. In my experience the Harai is really easy to defend and the only advice I'd give you is to work on your explosiveness and accuracy when you do it. I like to get my instep about 6 inches above their ankle when I trip. Here's a really good video with some O Goshi tips. Good demonstration. http://www.ehow.com/video_4956069_o-gos ... -tips.html
