    Ok, this is about how william duke of normandy kept control in 1066, I've written about the battle of hastings, feudal sustem and domesday book now its time to write about the motte and bailey castles and I've been searching and searching but I can;t find out why and what its got to do with william...any help would be greatly appreciated and + rep will be given.
    Please help! :?

    lol you can always simply wikipedia it
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_I_of_England
    there's something on there about how he built it under the "Conquest of England" and you can use that info to google or search for books with similar info if you need a source for it, but if you don't need a source you can probably just use that o_O

    if i remember rightly he was passing by those castles and managed to seize it and then used it to recruit new members refresh his troops and hide before he went to fight at hastings, this is only what i can remember so parts may be missing
