help on math plz!!!

    ok i was doing my math homework then i come arcorss a problem i had this problem:

    1.2/x= 9/3

    how do u solve this and wats the ansewer?

    I'm pretty sure you would cross multiply. That being 1.2 times 3 and x times 9.

    1.2/x = 9/3

    3.6=9x

    then divide by 9/

    3.6/9=0.4

    so

    x=0.4

    I'm pretty sure that's how it would work, haven't done that in ages. Trig is totally different than Algebra.

    Yeah, Magnetic Cheese is right.
    But to make it easier it might be better to divide the 9 by 3 first.

    I agree, If you had done this it would have been:

    1.2/x = 3

    1.2 = 3x

    x = 1.2/3

    x= 0.4
