He who makes it, does not tell it. He who takes it, does not know it. He who knows it, does not take it. What is it?
a bluff as in a poker game Edit: please tell me if im right or if not what the answer was. id like to know.
Err... a coffin? Logically this is the only answer I can think of besides a bluff at the moment, I'm sure there are actually several answers though. Hope it helps. Basically, "it" is a reference to an object, thing, event etc. Two Possible Answers with an explanation: Bluff: He who makes it, does not tell it. (It defeats the purpose of bluffing) He who knows it, does not take it. (Usually you call a bluff, and not accept it) He who takes it, does not know it. (Who would willingly accept one) Coffin: He who makes it, does not tell it. (Coffin's are developed in factories. Even if custom made, the blacksmith wouldnt know the family, or less likely tell) He who knows it, does not take it. (Logically, if needed, they'd use another one) He who takes it, does not know it. (Dead people arent known for thinking lol) If this is a school subject, I think either answer would suffice as they have reasonable explanations to them. Other fun ones: What gets wetter as it dries. Spoiler A Towel A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. Through the second door there is a fire-breathing dragon. How does the man escape? Spoiler He waits until night time and then goes through the first door. (Added spoilers for sanity)
Yeah it is a coffin, I have heard it before. Too bad you beat me to it. I like that second riddle you posted by the way, hehe.
The one I heard goes: He who makes it does not keep it He who buys it does not need it He who uses it does not know it And this one seems COMPLETELY different, so I don't think "coffin" is the answer, but then again, it could be. Its just that the words don't seem to fit the answer. I'm gonna take a wild guess myself and say "counterfeit items".
Yeah, they used to get me with brain teasers in school all the time. I remembered something similiar to this one, although the words were different, the context in which they're taken is practically he same. I believe they do this simply to avoid people googling them off the internet. A buddy of mine actually had to give me the answer to that second(third/dragon) riddle, I remember that. Logical, but everything just seems easier after you already know the answer. I'd rate it around 3/5.. which is quite difficult considering the thought that goes into them nowadays. If curious, that first one I got from an episode of Family Guy.. great show. Overall, I wouldn't mind the TC posting the answer heh. This could be one of several, several things.
could u explain why? this definitely wasn't something i thought of and id like to hear the reasoning behind it.
He who makes it, does not tell it. - Sleep walkers have been known to do various activities and since they can't remember anything about it they can't tell He who takes it, does not know it. - They can take things but not know it. He who knows it, does not take it. - If the sleep walker wakes up and knows what has happened they wouldn't take whatever it is.
i wish the author would post the answer. i really want to know, since there are several good ones. i think im beginning to lose sleep lol.
I'm going to have to agree with Sinmora. This riddle doesn't follow the basic flow of the 'coffin' riddle. He who makes it, sells it He who buys it doesn't use it. He who uses it doesn't know it. The Sleepwalking explanation seems a little too far fetched to me. Counterfeit items or the poker bluff answers seem the most logical.
What about a poison? He who makes it, does not tell it. (You don't tell people you make poison... You just don't XD) He who takes it, does not know it. (You don't really KNOWINGLY take poison... [at least happily]) He who knows it, does not take it. (If you know it's poison you don't take it) Am I right?
Bluffing is the best answer i can come up with. There is a similar riddle with coffin as the answer though. PS: Sleep walking.....
