I would like to make a blog about marketing on wordpress, I already have a domain but I just can't seem to install wordpress. I made a MySQL database, I FTP'd the wordpress download and when I connect to http://example.com/wp-admin/install.php with my domain name replacing the "example" it does not get to the installation page. I have tried different times from all the beginning.

I just can't seem to install wordpress. Has anyone ever had this problem and if so have you managed to get through with it and what were the causes?

Did you ftp to the public_html folder? Or perhaps after you unzipped the whole thing, you uploaded the whole unzipped folder and not simply each folder/file inside (as in your url would be like http://example.com/somefolder/wp-admin/install.php)?

You have to edit a config file first. Though that shouldn't cause your problem. Are you uploading the unzipped wordpress, or did you upload only the .zip file?

And make sure you ftp'd the entire unzipped folder to public_html
